但有一點我必須承認，就是我依循他們稱之為異端的道事奉我們祖先的上帝，我也相信律法書和先知書的一切記載，

你們在異教徒當中要品行端正。這樣，儘管他們毀謗你們是作惡的人，但看見你們的好行為，也會在主來的日子把榮耀歸給上帝。

如果你們為基督的緣故受辱駡，就有福了！因為上帝榮耀的靈常住在你們身上。你們誰也不可因殺人、偷盜、作惡或管閒事而受苦。若是為了作基督徒而受苦，不要覺得羞恥，要因這身分歸榮耀給上帝。

你們中間必然會有分裂的事，好顯出誰是經得起考驗的。

有幾個信了主的法利賽人站起來說：「外族的信徒必須接受割禮，而且還要遵守摩西的律法。」

大祭司和他的同黨撒都該人看見這情形，妒火中燒，

他們認識我很久了，如果他們肯作證的話，他們可以證明我從小就屬於猶太教中最嚴格的法利賽派。
