“ Awake, sword, against My Shepherd, And against the Man, My Associate,” Declares the Lord of armies.“ Strike the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered; And I will turn My hand against the little ones.

Who has believed our report? And I will make enemies Of you and the woman, And of your offspring and her Descendant; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

“ Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the wrongdoing, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.So you are to know and understand that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until Messiah the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty two weeks; it will be built again, with streets and moat, even in times of distress.Then after the sixty two weeks, the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.

No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it back. This commandment I received from My Father.”

As for the fact that He raised Him from the dead, never again to return to decay, He has spoken in this way:‘ I will give you the holy and faithful mercies of David.’

Jesus said to her,“ I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies,

“ And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and of pleading, so that they will look at Me whom they pierced; and they will mourn for Him, like one mourning for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.

and He said to them,“ So it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they entered the holy city and appeared to many.

But the fact is, Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.For since by a man death came, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming,

For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings.

But the things which God previously announced by the mouths of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has fulfilled in this way.

Now He took the twelve aside and said to them,“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that have been written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished.For He will be handed over to the Gentiles, and will be ridiculed, and abused, and spit upon,and after they have flogged Him, they will kill Him; and on the third day He will rise.”

Why is it considered incredible among you people if God raises the dead?

this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.But God raised Him from the dead, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.For David says of Him,‘ I saw the Lord continually before me, Because He is at my right hand, so that I will not be shaken.Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue was overjoyed; Moreover my flesh also will live in hope;For You will not abandon my soul to Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of gladness with Your presence.’“ Brothers, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.So because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh suffer decay.It is this Jesus whom God raised up, a fact to which we are all witnesses.
