So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place,

然予托天主佑、至今猶屹立無恙、向天下生靈、無分貴賤大小、而作證焉。所陳者莫非古先知與摩西預言必成之事、

But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen—

But I confess this to you, that in accordance with the Way, which they call a sect, I do serve the God of our fathers, believing everything that is in accordance with the Law and is written in the Prophets;

Then beginning with Moses and with all the Prophets, He explained to them the things written about Himself in all the Scriptures.

Now He said to them,“ These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things that are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.

All the prophets testify of Him, that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”

And they* sang the song of Moses, the bond servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,“ Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!

All nations surrounded me; In the name of the Lord I will certainly fend them off.They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; In the name of the Lord I will certainly fend them off.They surrounded me like bees; They were extinguished like a fire of thorn bushes; In the name of the Lord I will certainly fend them off.You pushed me violently so that I was falling, But the Lord helped me.

But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having won over the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, thinking that he was dead.But while the disciples stood around him, he got up and entered the city. The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.

While they were intent on killing him, a report came up to the commander of the Roman cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.He immediately took along some soldiers and centurions and ran down to the crowd; and when they saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.Then the commander came up and took hold of him, and ordered that he be bound with two chains; and he began asking who he was and what he had done.

“ Had it not been the Lord who was on our side,” Let Israel say,“ Had it not been the Lord who was on our side When people rose up against us,Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their anger was kindled against us;

You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;

You made men ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water. Yet You brought us out into a place of abundance.

But Abraham* said,‘ They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’But he said,‘ No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’But he said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.

Philip* found Nathanael and* said to him,“ We have found Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law, and the prophets also wrote: Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth!”

But the son of Paul’s sister heard about their ambush, and he came and entered the barracks and told Paul.Paul called one of the centurions to himself and said,“ Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to report to him.”So he took him and led him to the commander and* said,“ Paul the prisoner called me over to him and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you.”The commander took him by the hand, and stepping aside, began to inquire of him privately,“ What is it that you have to report to me?”And he said,“ The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down tomorrow to the Council, as though they were going to inquire somewhat more thoroughly about him.So do not listen to them, for more than forty of them are in hiding to ambush him, and these men have put themselves under an oath not to eat or drink until they kill him; and now they are ready and waiting for assurance from you.”Then the commander let the young man go, instructing him,“ Tell no one that you have notified me of these things.”

The God who executes vengeance for me, And subdues peoples under me.

And now I am standing trial for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers;

Peter responded and said to Jesus,“ Lord, it is good that we are here. If You want, I will make three tabernacles here: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said,“ This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!”

Then we journeyed from the river Ahava on the twelfth of the first month to go to Jerusalem; and the hand of our God was upon us, and He rescued us from the hand of the enemy and the ambushes by the road.

And when a great dissension occurred, the commander was afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, and he ordered the troops to go down and take him away from them by force, and bring him into the barracks.But on the following night, the Lord stood near him and said,“ Be courageous! For as you have testified to the truth about Me in Jerusalem, so you must testify in Rome also.”

Then Samuel took a stone and placed it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying,“ So far the Lord has helped us.”

Now about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them;and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains were unfastened.

Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,

how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was beneficial, and teaching you publicly and from house to house,solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that chains and afflictions await me.But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of God’s grace.“ And now behold, I know that all of you, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, will no longer see my face.Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all people.For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.

and He said to them,“ So it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

When they had set a day for Paul, people came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening.

rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you,

And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,so that everyone who believes will have eternal life in Him.

And the Lord said to Paul by a vision at night,“ Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent;for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city.”

whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things, about which God spoke by the mouths of His holy prophets from ancient times.Moses said,‘ The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your countrymen; to Him you shall listen regarding everything He says to you.And it shall be that every soul that does not listen to that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’And likewise, all the prophets who have spoken from Samuel and his successors onward, have also announced these days.

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction which occurred in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life.Indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,who rescued us from so great a danger of death, and will rescue us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us,

And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion’s mouth.The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.

persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me!
