欲汝啟眾民萬邦之目、使自黑暗轉向光明、脫沙殫之掌握而歸依天主、俾以信予之故、而獲罪赦、與一切因信成聖者同嗣洪基。」

to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

to open their eyes. I want you to turn them from darkness to light. I want you to turn them from Satan’s power to God. I want their sins to be forgiven. They will be forgiven when they believe in me. They will have their place among God’s people.’

“ And now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all who are sanctified.

in order to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon, and those sitting in darkness from the prison house.

giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.In him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light—

For God who said,“ Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.

to shine on those who live in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped.

They are darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them and because of the hardness of their hearts.

Jesus spoke to them again:“ I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

Peter replied,“ Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Do not be yoked together with those who do not believe. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in the dark, for this day to surprise you like a thief.For you are all children of light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or the darkness.So then, let us not sleep, like the rest, but let us stay awake and be self-controlled.For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled and put on the armor of faith and love, and a helmet of the hope of salvation.

I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.

and repentance for forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother or sister is in the darkness until now.

For you were like sheep going astray, but you have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

God exalted this man to his right hand as ruler and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

Nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life.

He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.

Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

to give his people knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins.

I am writing to you, little children, since your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.

In him was life, and that life was the light of men.That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it.There was a man sent from God whose name was John.He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that all might believe through him.He was not the light, but he came to testify about the light.The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD shines over you.For look, darkness will cover the earth, and total darkness the peoples; but the LORD will shine over you, and his glory will appear over you.Nations will come to your light, and kings to your shining brightness.

no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

On that day the deaf will hear the words of a document, and out of a deep darkness the eyes of the blind will see.

He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.He threw him into the abyss, closed it, and put a seal on it so that he would no longer deceive the nations until the thousand years were completed. After that, he must be released for a short time.

Bring out a people who are blind, yet have eyes, and are deaf, yet have ears.

Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James: To those who are the called, loved by God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ.

Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wondrous things from your instruction.

Then they may come to their senses and escape the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on paths they have not known. I will turn darkness to light in front of them and rough places into level ground. This is what I will do for them, and I will not abandon them.

For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are sanctified.

The people who live in darkness have seen a great light, and for those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness.

Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him?

This is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil.

The purpose was that the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles by Christ Jesus, so that we could receive the promised Spirit through faith.

Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through his death he might destroy the one holding the power of death— that is, the devil—and free those who were held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

For this is what the Lord has commanded us: I have made you a light for the Gentiles to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”

he says,“ It is not enough for you to be my servant raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations, to be my salvation to the ends of the earth.”

In him we have also received an inheritance, because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will,

The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD raises up those who are oppressed. The LORD loves the righteous.

But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.

a light for revelation to the Gentiles and glory to your people Israel.

“ The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light.But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light within you is darkness, how deep is that darkness!

Jesus answered,“ The light will be with you only a little longer. Walk while you have the light so that darkness doesn’t overtake you. The one who walks in darkness doesn’t know where he’s going.While you have the light, believe in the light so that you may become children of light.” Jesus said this, then went away and hid from them.

When a strong man, fully armed, guards his estate, his possessions are secure.But when one stronger than he attacks and overpowers him, he takes from him all his weapons he trusted in, and divides up his plunder.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us— our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption—

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,

For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—

Therefore, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance, because a death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”

Just as David also speaks of the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:Blessed are those whose lawless acts are forgiven and whose sins are covered.Blessed is the person the Lord will never charge with sin.Is this blessing only for the circumcised, then? Or is it also for the uncircumcised? For we say, Faith was credited to Abraham for righteousness.

he saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy— through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.He poured out his Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior

for what makes everything visible is light. Therefore it is said: Get up, sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen.

By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

Jesus answered,“ If you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you,‘ Give me a drink,’ you would ask him, and he would give you living water.”

All the prophets testify about him that through his name everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins.”

and if children, also heirs— heirs of God and coheirs with Christ— if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

How joyful is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered!How joyful is a person whom the LORD does not charge with iniquity and in whose spirit is no deceit!

I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Can the prey be taken from a mighty man, or the captives of a tyrant be delivered?For this is what the LORD says:“ Even the captives of a mighty man will be taken, and the prey of a tyrant will be delivered; I will contend with the one who contends with you, and I will save your children.

He was taken away because of oppression and judgment, and who considered his fate? For he was cut off from the land of the living; he was struck because of my people’s rebellion.He was assigned a grave with the wicked, but he was with a rich man at his death, because he had done no violence and had not spoken deceitfully.Yet the LORD was pleased to crush him severely. When you make him a guilt offering, he will see his seed, he will prolong his days, and by his hand, the LORD’s pleasure will be accomplished.After his anguish, he will see light and be satisfied. By his knowledge, my righteous servant will justify many, and he will carry their iniquities.Therefore I will give him the many as a portion, and he will receive the mighty as spoil, because he willingly submitted to death, and was counted among the rebels; yet he bore the sin of many and interceded for the rebels.

The one who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.”He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit, for the Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

that the Messiah would suffer, and that, as the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light to our people and to the Gentiles.”

Therefore, let it be known to you, brothers and sisters, that through this man forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you.Everyone who believes is justified through him from everything that you could not be justified from through the law of Moses.

But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again. In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up in him for eternal life.”

The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

Ananias went and entered the house. He placed his hands on him and said,“ Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were traveling, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”At once something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized.

To the church of God at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called as saints, with all those in every place who call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord— both their Lord and ours.

I only want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by believing what you heard?

Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out,
