毁谤为你们求告时所奉的尊名的，不就是他们吗？

但你们自己要谨慎；因为有人要把你们交给议会，并且你们在会堂里要受鞭打，又为我的缘故站在统治者和君王面前，对他们作见证。

扫罗不断用威吓凶悍的口气向主的门徒说话。他去见大祭司，

他们怒气填胸，彼此商议怎样对付耶稣。

他醒悟过来，就说：‘我父亲有多少雇工，粮食有余，我倒在这里饿死吗？

他却为自己的过犯受了责备，而那不能说话的驴以人的声音阻止了先知的狂妄。

在日光之下发生的一切事中有一件祸患，就是众人的际遇都一样，并且世人的心充满了恶；活着的时候心里狂妄，后来就归死人那里去了。

当他们抗拒他、毁谤他的时候，他就抖掉衣裳的灰尘，对他们说：“你们的罪归到你们自己的头上，与我无干。从今以后，我要往外邦人那里去。”

保罗这样申诉时，非斯都大声说：“保罗，你疯了！你的学问太大，反使你疯了！”保罗说：“非斯都大人，我不是疯了，我说的乃是真实和清醒的话。

但这一切的事以前，有人要下手拿你们，迫害你们，把你们交给会堂，并且关在监里，又为我名的缘故拉你们到君王和统治者面前。

任何人干犯摩西的律法，凭两个或三个证人，尚且必须处死，不得宽赦，更何况践踏上帝儿子的人，他们将那使他成圣之约的血当作不洁净，又亵慢施恩的圣灵的人，你们想，他不该受更严厉的惩罚吗？
