猶太人看見這麼多人，就滿心嫉妒，反駁保羅所講的，並且毀謗他們。

我實在告訴你們，世人的一切罪和一切褻瀆的話，都可以得到赦免；

這是大祭司和全公議會都可以給我作證的。我也從他們那裡得到了寫給眾弟兄的信，就去大馬士革，要把那裡的人捆綁起來，帶到耶路撒冷接受懲罰。

難道不是他們褻瀆那召你們的尊名嗎？（或譯：“難道不是他們毀謗你們蒙召的美名嗎？”）

但你們要小心！因為人要把你們交給公議會，你們要在會堂裡被鞭打，又要為我的緣故站在總督和君王面前，向他們作見證。

掃羅仍向主的門徒發恐嚇兇殺的話。他到大祭司那裡，

他們卻大怒，彼此商議怎樣對付耶穌。

他醒悟過來，說：‘我父親有那麼多雇工，又有豐富的食物，我卻要在這裡餓死嗎？

他曾經因著自己的過犯受了責備：不能說話的驢，竟用人的聲音說出話來，制止了這先知的狂妄。

在日光之下所發生的一切事，有一件令人遺憾的，就是眾人的命運都是一樣的，並且世人的心充滿邪惡，一生心懷狂妄，後來都歸到死人那裡去。

但是他們抗拒、褻瀆，保羅就抖著衣服，對他們說：“你們的罪你們自己承擔，這與我無關。從今以後，我要到外族人那裡去了。”

保羅申訴到這裡，非斯都大聲說：“保羅！你瘋了；你的學問太大，使你瘋了！”保羅說：“非斯都大人，我沒有瘋，我說的都是真實的話，清醒的話。

但在這一切以先，人必為我的名，下手拘捕、迫害你們，把你們交給會堂，下在監裡，甚至押到君王和總督面前，

如果有人干犯了摩西的律法，憑著兩三個證人，他尚且得不到憐憫而死；何況是踐踏神的兒子，把那使他成聖的立約的血當作俗物，又侮辱施恩的聖靈的人，你們想想，他不是應該受更嚴厲的刑罰嗎？
