扫罗却摧残教会，闯进各家各户，无论男女都拉去关进监狱。

所有听见的人都十分惊讶，说：“这不就是那个在耶路撒冷残害了那些求告这名的人吗？而且他来到这里，不就是为要捆绑他们，带到祭司长们那里吗？”

阿纳尼亚却回答：“主啊，我听许多人说过有关这个人在耶路撒冷对你的圣徒们所做的种种恶事。并且，他得到祭司长们的授权来到这里，要捆绑所有求告你名的人。”

我曾经逼迫这道的信徒置于死地，无论男女都捆绑起来，关进监狱。这是大祭司和全长老议会的人都可以为我做见证的。我还从他们那里拿到了给同胞们的一些信函往大马士革去，要把那里被捆绑的信徒们，带到耶路撒冷来受刑。

扫罗也赞同杀害司提反。从那一天开始，有大逼迫临到耶路撒冷的教会。除了使徒以外，他们都分散到犹太和撒马利亚地区。

有一次，彼得走遍各地的时候，也下到住在利达的圣徒们那里。

原来我是使徒中最小的，不配被称为使徒，因为我曾经逼迫神的教会。

至于这地上的圣民，他们都是尊贵的，是我全部的喜乐。

照着神的旨意做基督耶稣使徒的保罗，致住在以弗所的圣徒，就是在基督耶稣里的信徒们：

扫罗来到耶路撒冷，想要和门徒们交往，可是大家都怕他，不相信他成了门徒。

“我就说：‘主啊，他们知道我曾经到各会堂，把信靠你的人关进监狱，还鞭打他们。并且当你的见证人司提反受害流血的时候，我自己也站在旁边赞同，还为那些杀害他的人看守衣服。’

你们听说过我以前在犹太教中的行事为人：我曾极力地逼迫神的教会，残害她。

但如今，我要到耶路撒冷去服事圣徒，因为马其顿省和亚该亚省的信徒，乐意与耶路撒冷圣徒中的穷人有一些分享。

彼得伸手扶她站起来，又叫圣徒们和寡妇们进来，把活过来的多卡丝交给他们。

把他拉到城外，用石头砸他。那些见证人把自己的外衣放在一个称为扫罗的年轻人脚前。

随后，我看见那女人喝醉了圣徒们的血，以及为耶稣做见证之人的血。我看到她就大大惊奇。

扫罗仍然向主的门徒们口吐凶杀威吓的话。他来到大祭司面前，求他发一些信函给大马士革各会堂，准许扫罗如果发现什么人属于这道，无论男女，都捆绑起来，带到耶路撒冷。
