非斯都到了任，过了三天，就从凯撒利亚上耶路撒冷去。

他见犹太人喜欢这事，又去捉拿彼得。那时正是除酵的日子。

彼拉多要叫众人喜悦，就释放巴拉巴给他们，将耶稣鞭打了，交给人钉十字架。

亚基帕又对非斯都说：“这人若没有上告于凯撒，就可以释放了。”

保罗这样分诉，非斯都大声说：“保罗，你癫狂了吧。你的学问太大，反叫你癫狂了！”保罗说：“非斯都大人，我不是癫狂，我说的乃是真实明白话。

惧怕人的，陷入网罗；惟有倚靠耶和华的，必得安稳。

非斯都却回答说：“保罗押在凯撒利亚，我自己快要往那里去”；

彼拉多这才照他们所求的定案，把他们所求的那作乱杀人、下在监里的释放了，把耶稣交给他们，任凭他们的意思行。

不可随众行恶；不可在争讼的事上随众偏行，作见证屈枉正直；

我现在是要得人的心呢？还是要得神的心呢？我岂是讨人的喜欢吗？若仍旧讨人的喜欢，我就不是基督的仆人了。

保罗在自己所租的房子里住了足足两年。凡来见他的人，他全都接待，

就说：“等告你的人来到，我要细听你的事”；便吩咐人把他看守在希律的衙门里。
