予答曰：「無論何人、兩造尚未對質、且對於所控之事、未獲答辯即先定罪、羅馬人無此慣例。」

曰『俟控汝者至、予將審問汝案。』遂命將彼看守於希祿督轅。

倘若輩有不滿於我、則當來汝前呈訴，

曰：『猶太人已有密約、乞汝准予明日解葆樂至公會、佯言欲詳究其事、

意圖褻瀆聖殿。故吾儕拘之。

其謀為掃羅所覺。若輩晝夜偵伺、伏於邑門、意在必殺。

破曉、猶太人結黨立誓曰：『不殺葆樂、誓不朝食！』

又曰：『爾中有權力者、可與予同往；斯人苟屬有罪、即可據實呈控。』非斯都逗留耶路撒冷祇八日或十日、即返凱塞里。次日、升坐、飭提葆樂。

總之、吾望兄弟皆能怡怡欣欣、灑然而樂、互相淬礪切磋、俾爾成為完人。更望同心一德、相親相愛；則仁愛和平之天主、必與爾俱矣。
