那紛爭越來越大，千夫長恐怕保羅給他們扯碎了，就命令士兵下去，將保羅從他們中間搶出來，帶進營樓。

當時有的喊這個，有的喊那個；那個會集紛紛亂亂，大多數人都不知道是為了甚麼而聚攏來。

快要被帶進營樓的時候，保羅對千夫長說：『我對千夫長說句話可以麼？』他說：『你懂希利尼話麼？

千夫長只得發命令將保羅帶進營樓，吩咐用鞭打拷問他，好確知為了甚麼緣故、眾人這樣對他喊叫。

保羅的外甥聽見了這埋伏的事，就來，進了營樓，報告保羅。

第二天、千夫長有意思要知道保羅被猶太人控告的確實情形，就解開他，命令祭司長和全議院都聚攏來，便將保羅帶下來，叫他站在他們面前。

第二天讓馬兵同他往前走，他們就回營樓來了。

關於這個人、我沒有確實的事可以呈寫給主上；所以我把他提出來在你們面前，尤其在亞基帕王面前，好在檢問之後、有可以呈寫的。
