來見我們，拿保羅的腰帶，捆着自己的腳和手，說：『聖靈這麼說，猶太人必在耶路撒冷這樣捆綁這腰帶的主人，給送交在外國人手裏。』

希律將要把他提出來的前一夜，彼得睡在兩個兵當中，被兩條鎖鍊捆綁着；門前的守衛兵們又看守着監牢。

為了這個緣故、我才請諸位來見面談談。我原是為了以色列的指望才掛着這鎖鍊的。』

於是那些將要拷問保羅的立刻離開了他；百夫長知道保羅是羅馬人，又因為曾捆綁過他、也害怕。

大利拉就用新繩子捆綁他，對他說：『參孫哪，非利士人來拿你來了。』當時有埋伏的人在內室等候着；參孫就從手臂上把繩子掙斷下來，像掙斷粗線一樣。

於是非利士人的霸主們將七條未乾的青新繩子帶上去給那婦人，婦人就用那繩子去捆綁參孫。

非利士人把他抓住，剜了他的眼睛，帶他下到迦薩，用銅鍊拘束着他；他就在監牢裏做推磨的人。

願主賜憐憫給阿尼色弗一家的人！因為他屢次使我蘇爽，又不以我的鎖鍊為恥。

我回答他們說：「無論甚麼人，被告還沒有和原告當面對質，對案情還沒有得分訴之餘地，徇人情把他定罪，這不是羅馬人的規矩。」

他們告訴他說：『不，我們只要將你捆綁，交在非利士人手中罷了；我們斷不害死你。』他們就用兩條新的粗繩子捆綁參孫，從巉巖裏給帶上去。

於是彼拉多出來到外邊向着他們說：『你們拿甚麼控告這個人呢？』他們回答他說：『這個人若不是作惡的，我們就不把他送交給你。』

保羅說：『我禱告上帝、無論用幾句、或許多句、不但使你、也使今天聽我的人、都像我這樣，可不要有這些鎖鍊。』

在這傳福音的事上、我喫盡了苦惱、甚至於受捆鎖、像犯人一樣；然而上帝之道是不受捆鎖的。

千夫長只得發命令將保羅帶進營樓，吩咐用鞭打拷問他，好確知為了甚麼緣故、眾人這樣對他喊叫。士兵剛用皮條將保羅反綁起來時，保羅對旁邊站着的百夫長說：『你們鞭笞了一個人，是羅馬人，又是沒受定罪的，可以麼？』
