那些准备拷问保罗的士兵立刻退下了。千夫长也害怕起来，因为发现保罗是罗马公民，他却下令捆绑了保罗。

于是，大利拉让人埋伏在内室，她用七根新绳子绑住参孙，然后喊道：“参孙，非利士人来捉你了！”结果，参孙挣断了手臂上的绳子，就像挣断一根线一样。

非利士人的首领便把七根还没干的青绳子交给大利拉，她用那些绳子把参孙绑起来。

非利士人拿住他，剜了他的眼睛，把他带到迦萨，用铜链锁住他，让他在监牢里推磨。

愿主怜悯阿尼色弗一家人，他常常鼓励我，不以我被囚禁为耻。

我告诉他们，按照罗马人的规矩，被告还没有跟原告对质和自辩之前，不能定他的罪。

他们说：“我们不会杀你，只将你绑起来交给非利士人。”于是，他们用两根新绳子把参孙捆绑起来带出岩洞。

彼拉多出来问他们：“你们控告这个人什么罪？”他们回答说：“如果祂没有为非作歹，我们也不会把祂送到你这里来。”

保罗说：“不论话多话少，我求上帝不仅使你，也使今天在座的各位都能像我一样，只是不要像我这样带着锁链。”

我为这福音受苦，甚至像犯人一样被囚禁，但上帝的道是囚禁不住的。

千夫长下令把保罗押回营房，预备鞭打拷问他，要查出众人向他咆哮的缘由。他们把保罗绑起来正要鞭打，保罗问旁边的百夫长：“未经定罪就拷打罗马公民合法吗？”
