這樣，各教會在信仰上得了堅固，人數也天天增加。

因為這應許是給你們和你們的兒女，以及所有在遠處的人，就是主我們的神所召來的人。」

原來，十字架的福音對那些正在滅亡的人來說，是愚拙的；但是對我們這些正在被拯救的人來說，卻是神的大能。

雖然其他的人沒有一個敢與他們交往，但民眾都尊敬他們。信主的人越發增加，連男帶女成群結隊。

於是領受他話的人就受了洗；那一天大約增加了三千人。

——這是因為巴拿巴是個好人，充滿聖靈和信仰。於是有一大群人歸向了主。

外邦人聽了這話就感到歡喜，不住地榮耀主的福音，凡是被預定進入永恆生命的人都信了。

但是，當神我們救主的仁慈和他對人的愛顯明的時候，他拯救了我們；這不是本於我們所做的義行，而是照著他的憐憫，藉著重生的洗滌和聖靈的更新。

要知道，如此服事基督的人，是蒙神喜悅的，也是受人讚許的。

而且，神預先所定下的人，神又召他們來；所召來的人，又稱他們為義；所稱為義的人，又使他們得榮耀。

以賽亞論到以色列人，呼喊說：「以色列子民的人數雖然多如海沙，將要得救的卻是剩餘的少數。

照樣，在現今的時刻也有剩餘的少數，就是藉著恩典蒙揀選的人。既然藉著恩典，就不再本於行為了；否則，恩典就不再是恩典了。所以怎麼樣呢？以色列人並沒有獲得他們所尋求的，蒙揀選的人卻獲得了，而其餘的人都成了剛硬的，

耶穌的智慧和身量，以及神和人對他的喜愛，都不斷增長。

官長們又威嚇他們一番，為了民眾的緣故把他們釋放了。官長們找不出任何理由來懲罰他們，因為眾人都為所發生的事不住地榮耀神。

可是他們不知道怎樣下手，因為民眾都傾心聽他。

使徒們大有能力地為主耶穌的復活做見證，並且在他們每個人身上都有極大的恩典。
