You will not abandon me to Sheol; you will not allow your faithful follower to see the Pit.

David by foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did his body experience decay.

and the one who lives! I was dead, but look, now I am alive– forever and ever– and I hold the keys of death and of Hades!

Jesus said,“ Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, replied,“ Lord, by this time the body will have a bad smell, because he has been buried four days.”

For you will extend your great loyal love to me, and will deliver my life from the depths of Sheol.

The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.

in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

“ To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write the following:“ This is the solemn pronouncement of the Holy One, the True One, who holds the key of David, who opens doors no one can shut, and shuts doors no one can open:

“ Ha! Leave us alone, Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are– the Holy One of God.”

The ropes of death tightened around me, the snares of Sheol confronted me. I was confronted with trouble and sorrow.

The angel replied,“ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called the Son of God.

I went down to the very bottoms of the mountains; the gates of the netherworld barred me in forever; but you brought me up from the Pit, O LORD, my God.

And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be thrown down to Hades! For if the miracles done among you had been done in Sodom, it would have continued to this day.

But God will rescue my life from the power of Sheol; certainly he will pull me to safety.( Selah)

Then you spoke through a vision to your faithful followers and said:“ I have energized a warrior; I have raised up a young man from the people.

For the people who live in Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize him, and they fulfilled the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath by condemning him.Though they found no basis for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed.When they had accomplished everything that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and placed him in a tomb.But God raised him from the dead,and for many days he appeared to those who had accompanied him from Galilee to Jerusalem. These are now his witnesses to the people.And we proclaim to you the good news about the promise to our ancestors,that this promise God has fulfilled to us, their children, by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second psalm,‘ You are my Son; today I have fathered you.’But regarding the fact that he has raised Jesus from the dead, never again to be in a state of decay, God has spoken in this way:‘ I will give you the holy and trustworthy promises made to David.’Therefore he also says in another psalm,‘ You will not permit your Holy One to experience decay.’For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, died, was buried with his ancestors, and experienced decay,but the one whom God raised up did not experience decay.

And in hell, as he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far off with Lazarus at his side.

But you rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a man who was a murderer be released to you.
