有一個會堂管事、名叫睚魯、來了；看見耶穌，就俯伏在他腳前，

耶穌還說着話的時候，有人從會堂管事那裏來，說：『你女兒死掉了；為甚麼還麻煩先生呢？』

他家中所有的男人，無論是家裏生的，是用銀子從外人買的，都和他一同受割禮。

所以你們要去，使一切外國人都做門徒，給他們施洗，歸於父子聖靈的名，

律法和神言人的書宣讀了以後，會堂管事們就差遣人到他們跟前說：『同人弟兄們，你們心裏若有甚麼要向民眾勸勉的話，請說。』

難道基督是分開的麼？難道是保羅替你們釘了十字架麼？或是你們受過洗、歸於保羅名下麼？我感謝上帝，除了基利司布和該猶以外、我沒有給你們一個人施過洗；免得有人說你們是受過洗歸於我名下。我倒也給司提反阿一家的人施過洗；此外給甚麼別人施過洗沒有，我卻記不清。基督差遣了我，並不是為施洗，乃是為傳福音；又不是用話語上的智慧，免得基督的十字架落了空。

眾人拉住了會堂管事所提尼，在審判臺前擊打；這些事迦流都不管。

倘若你們以事奉永恆主為不好，那麼你們今日就可以選擇你們所要事奉的：到底是你們列祖在大河那邊所事奉的神呢？還是你們住於其地的亞摩利人的神呢？至於我和我的家呢、我們是必定事奉永恆主的。』

我和他知交，是要叫他吩咐他的子孫、和他以後的家屬一直走我永恆主的道路，秉公行義，為要使永恆主指着亞伯拉罕所應許的話都歸給他。』

他是個敬虔人，他同全家都敬畏上帝；他對人民多行施捨，時常祈求上帝。

腓利就開口，從這一段經起，將耶穌這福音傳給他。他們沿路走的時候，到了有水的地方；太監說：『看哪，這裏有水！有甚麼能攔阻我受洗禮呢？』

又領使徒上家裏去，擺上飯席，他和全家都因信了上帝而歡樂。

有一個婦人名叫呂底亞，是推雅推喇城一個賣紫色布的，素來敬拜上帝；她直聽着；主敞開她的心，叫她注意保羅所講的。她和她一家既受了洗，就求我們說：『你們若以我為真信主的，就請進我家來住。』便強留我們。

眾人聽了，心裏被扎，就對彼得和其餘的使徒說：『同人弟兄們，我們應當怎樣行？』彼得對他們說：『你們要悔改，你們各人都要在上帝所膏立者耶穌名內受洗、以得罪赦，你們就可以領受聖靈、那白白的恩。因為這應許是給你們和你們的兒女、以及一切在遠方、凡主我們的上帝所呼召的人。』彼得還用更多別樣的話鄭重地作見證，勸勉他們說：『你們要救自己、脫離這彎曲的世代。』於是領受他話的人都受了洗；那一天約加了三千人。
