人群中有一位会堂的主管名叫雅鲁，他一见到耶稣便俯伏在祂脚前，

耶稣还在说话的时候，有人从雅鲁家中赶来，对雅鲁说：“你的女儿已经死了，何必麻烦老师呢？”

亚伯拉罕家里所有的男子，包括家中出生的和买回来的，都一起接受了割礼。

所以，你们要去使万民做我的门徒，奉父、子、圣灵的名给他们施洗，

读完律法书和先知书后，会堂主管派人告诉他们：“弟兄们，如果你们有什么劝勉众人的话，请讲。”

难道基督是分成几派的吗？替你们钉十字架的是保罗吗？你们是奉保罗的名受洗的吗？感谢上帝，除了基利司布和该犹以外，我没有为你们任何人施洗，所以没有人能说是奉我的名受洗的。不错，我也曾为司提法纳的家人施洗，除此以外，我不记得还为谁施洗了。基督不是差遣我去为人施洗，而是去传扬福音，而且不用高言大智，免得基督十字架的能力被抹杀。

到了庭外，众人揪住会堂主管所提尼，把他痛打一顿。迦流却置之不理。

如果你们不愿意事奉耶和华，今天就选择你们的神明吧，或大河那边你们祖先事奉的神明，或你们这里亚摩利人的神明。至于我和我全家，我们必事奉耶和华。”

我拣选了他，是要他教导自己的子孙后代持守我的道、秉公行义。这样，我必实现对他的应许。”

他和全家都是虔诚敬畏上帝的人，他慷慨周济穷人，常常祷告。

腓利就从这段经文入手向他传耶稣的福音。他们往前走的时候，经过一处有水的地方，太监说：“你看，这里有水，我可以在这里接受洗礼吗？”

他请二人到家里吃饭，他和全家人充满了喜乐，因为都信了上帝。

听众中有个卖紫色布匹的妇人名叫吕底亚，是推雅推喇城的人，向来敬拜上帝。上帝开启她的心，她便留心听保罗讲道。吕底亚和家人接受洗礼之后，极力邀请我们，说：“如果你们认为我是真心信主的话，请来我家住。”于是强留我们住下。

他们听了彼得的话，觉得扎心，就对彼得和其他使徒说：“弟兄们，我们该怎么办呢？”彼得说：“你们每一个人都要悔改，奉耶稣基督的名受洗，使你们的罪得到赦免，你们就必领受上帝所赐的圣灵。因为这应许是给你们和你们的儿女，以及远方的人，就是所有被主——我们的上帝呼召的人。”然后，彼得还讲了许多话警戒、劝勉他们，说：“你们要保守自己脱离这邪恶的世代。”结果，那天约有三千人相信了他传的道，接受了洗礼。
