“ His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him— though he is not far from any one of us.

For what great nation has a god as near to them as the Lord our God is near to us whenever we call on him?

Am I a God who is only close at hand?” says the Lord.“ No, I am far away at the same time.Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities— his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

so that the rest of humanity might seek the Lord, including the Gentiles— all those I have called to be mine. The Lord has spoken—

Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known.They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard.Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.

“ But will God really live on earth? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you. How much less this Temple I have built!
