Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

All the while my breath[ is] in me, and the spirit of God[ is] in my nostrils;

Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give[ them] their meat in due season.[ That] thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?
