Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him,“ May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting?

葆樂立於院中曰：『雅典人乎、予觀爾等頗具宗教精神。

亞基帕語葆樂曰：『准汝自辯。』葆樂乃舉手而辯曰：

為我之故、解爾至有司與君王之前、對若輩及萬民、為吾作證。

亞基帕語非斯都曰：『予亦願一聞是人辯論。』非斯都曰：『明日汝可觀審。』

愛友乎、吾茲所書、非新誡命、乃爾等自始所受之舊誡命、亦即爾等素聞之道也。雖然、吾所書者、亦可謂之新誡命、主所體認、亦爾等所體認者也。蓋暗昧寖消、而真光已著矣。

越數日、裴力斯偕其妻猶太女子土西拉至、召葆樂、欲聽耶穌基督之道、

予茲授爾以新誡、即彼此相愛是已、務以予之所以愛爾者、彼此相愛也。

蓋爾所傳者、在吾人耳中、實屬異聞、頗欲一明其旨。』
