But Paul said to them,“ They have beaten us publicly without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!”

保罗却说：“我们是罗马公民，他们不经审讯就当众打我们，又把我们关进牢里，现在却想偷偷打发掉我们吗？这样不行，叫他们亲自来领我们出去！”

保罗对他们说：“我们是罗马人，还没有定罪，他们就公开打我们，又放在监里；现在要私下赶我们出去吗？不行！他们应当亲自来，领我们出去！”

可是保罗对他们说：“我们是罗马公民，并没有被定罪，他们却当众打我们，把我们投进监狱。现在他们还要悄悄地把我们赶出去吗？当然不行！让他们亲自来领我们出去！”

保羅卻說：「我們是羅馬人，並沒有定罪，他們就在眾人面前打了我們，又把我們下在監裏，現在要私下攆我們出去嗎？這是不行的。叫他們自己來領我們出去吧！」

保羅卻對他們說：『我們本是羅馬人，又是沒受定罪的；他們在公眾面前打了我們，給下在監裏；如今要私下裏把我們攆出去啊？絕對不行！不，他們要親自來，領我們出去！』

可是保羅對他們說：「我們是羅馬公民，並沒有被定罪，他們卻當眾打我們，把我們投進監獄。現在他們還要悄悄地把我們趕出去嗎？當然不行！讓他們親自來領我們出去！」

保羅曰、我儕羅馬人也、未定罪、而於眾前扑之、且下獄、今欲私出我乎、必不可、宜自來、引我出也、

保羅曰、我亦羅馬赤子、未定擬、遽當眾前受僕下獄、今欲私出我乎、必不可、俟其自來引我出也、

保羅曰、我儕亦羅瑪人、未定罪、當眾前杖我、且下獄、今欲私出我乎、必不可、俟其自來引我出、

隸如言白有司、有司聞其為羅馬人、悚懼、

But Paul said to the officers:“ They beat us publicly without a trial, even though we are Roman citizens, and threw us into prison. And now do they want to get rid of us quietly? No! Let them come themselves and escort us out.”

But Paul replied to the officers.“ They beat us in public,” he said.“ We weren’t given a trial. And we are Roman citizens! They threw us into prison. And now do they want to get rid of us quietly? No! Let them come themselves and personally lead us out.”

But Paul said to them,“ They have beaten us publicly, uncondemned, men who are Roman citizens, and have thrown us into prison; and do they now throw us out secretly? No! Let them come themselves and take us out.”

But Paul replied,“ They have publicly beaten us without a trial and put us in prison— and we are Roman citizens. So now they want us to leave secretly? Certainly not! Let them come themselves to release us!”

But Paul said to them,“ They beat us in public without a trial, although we are Roman citizens, and threw us in jail. And now are they going to send us away secretly? Certainly not! On the contrary, let them come themselves and escort us out.”

But Paul said to them,“ After beating us in public without due process— men who are Romans— they threw us into prison; and now they are releasing us secretly? No indeed! On the contrary, let them come in person and lead us out.”

But Paul said to them,“ They have beaten us openly, uncondemned Romans, and have thrown us into prison. And now do they put us out secretly? No indeed! Let them come themselves and get us out.”

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us publicly, uncondemned, men that are Romans, and have cast us into prison; and do they now cast us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and bring us out.

But Paul said to them,“ They beat us in public without a trial, although we are Roman citizens, and threw us in jail. And now are they going to smuggle us out secretly? Certainly not! On the contrary, let them come themselves and escort us out!”

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast[ us] into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

But Paul said to the police officers,“ They had us beaten in public without a proper trial– even though we are Roman citizens– and they threw us in prison. And now they want to send us away secretly? Absolutely not! They themselves must come and escort us out!”

When they had tied him up with thongs, Paul asked the centurion who stood by,“ Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and not found guilty?”When the centurion heard it, he went to the commanding officer and told him,“ Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman!”The commanding officer came and asked him,“ Tell me, are you a Roman?” He said,“ Yes.”The commanding officer answered,“ I bought my citizenship for a great price.” Paul said,“ But I was born a Roman.”Immediately those who were about to examine him departed from him, and the commanding officer also was afraid when he realized that he was a Roman, because he had bound him.

Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which brings about mischief by statute?

“ Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods.“ How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked?” Selah.

When they had brought them to the magistrates, they said,“ These men, being Jews, are agitating our cityand advocate customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.”The multitude rose up together against them and the magistrates tore their clothes from them, then commanded them to be beaten with rods.When they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely,who, having received such a command, threw them into the inner prison, and secured their feet in the stocks.

The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting. No musical instruments were brought before him; and his sleep fled from him.Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste to the den of lions.

He answered,“ Look, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are unharmed. The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace. He spoke and said,“ Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here!” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the middle of the fire.

Do you indeed speak righteousness, silent ones? Do you judge blamelessly, you sons of men?No, in your heart you plot injustice. You measure out the violence of your hands in the earth.
