消息一傳開，全城轟動。眾人衝進聖殿把保羅拉出來，隨即關上殿門。

你們反倒侮辱窮人。其實欺壓你們、抓你們上法庭的不是那些富人嗎？

一天，我們又去河邊那個禱告的地方，途中遇到一個被巫鬼附身的女奴。她用占卜為她的主人們賺了不少錢。

他們找不到保羅和西拉，就把耶孫和幾個弟兄拉到當地官員面前，高喊：「那些攪亂天下的人到我們這裡來了，

掃羅卻在摧毀教會，他挨家挨戶搜尋，把男女信徒抓進監裡。

鞭打、囚禁、暴亂、辛勞、無眠或饑餓，我們都堅忍到底，

當時，有些外族人、猶太人及其官長企圖惡待使徒，用石頭打他們。

一個名叫底米丟的銀匠以製造亞底米女神銀龕為業，使從事這門生意的工匠獲利豐厚。他召集了工匠和同行的人，說：「各位都知道我們靠這一行發財，可是你們都看到了，也聽見了，那個保羅在以弗所和亞細亞全境說服、誤導了許多人，說什麼人手所造的不是神。這樣下去，不但我們的行業會遭人貶抑，連亞底米女神廟也會被人輕看，甚至全亞細亞及普世尊崇的女神也會威嚴掃地！」

「那時，你們將遭人迫害、殺害，並因我的名而被萬民憎恨。

貪財是萬惡之根，有人因為貪財就離棄了信仰，結果飽嚐種種錐心般的痛苦。

「你們要小心，因為你們將被送上法庭，將在會堂裡受鞭打，又將為了我的緣故在官長和君王面前做見證。

最後，使徒、長老和全教會都決定從他們當中選派代表，隨保羅和巴拿巴去安提阿。他們選了別號巴撒巴的猶大和西拉，這兩位都是教會的領袖。

我會讓他知道他必為我的名而受許多的苦。」

迦流出任亞該亞總督時，猶太人聯合起來攻擊保羅，把他拉上法庭，說：「這個人教唆百姓不按律法敬拜上帝。」

「聽著，我差你們出去，就好像使羊走進狼群一般。所以，你們要像蛇一樣機靈，像鴿子一樣馴良。「你們要小心謹慎，因為人們要把你們送上法庭，也要在會堂裡鞭打你們。你們要因我的緣故被帶到官長和君王面前，在他們和外族人面前為我做見證。

他們二人為我們主耶穌基督的緣故已將生死置之度外。

有些猶太人從安提阿和以哥念來煽動民眾，他們用石頭打保羅，以為他死了，就把他拖到城外。
