Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

Here is what we should write to them. They must not eat food that has been made impure by being offered to statues of gods. They must not commit sexual sins. They must not eat the meat of animals that have been choked to death. And they must not drink blood.

“‘ It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings, that you shall eat neither fat nor blood.’”

But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.

But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

But flesh with its life, that is, its blood, you shall not eat.

But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written our decision that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from food offered to idols, from blood, from strangled things, and from sexual immorality.”

Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one.For though there are things that are called“ gods”, whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many“ gods” and many“ lords”;yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him.However, that knowledge isn’t in all men. But some, with consciousness of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we don’t eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.For if a man sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol’s temple, won’t his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whose sake Christ died.Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ.Therefore if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forever more, that I don’t cause my brother to stumble.

Only you shall not eat the blood. You shall pour it out on the earth like water.

The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, didn’t repent of the works of their hands, that they wouldn’t worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can’t see, hear, or walk.

Then I said,“ Ah Lord Yahweh! Behold, my soul has not been polluted; for from my youth up even until now I have not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn of animals. No abominable meat has come into my mouth!”

“‘ Any man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who live as foreigners among them, who eats any kind of blood, I will set my face against that soul who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people.For the life of the flesh is in the blood. I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement by reason of the life.Therefore I have said to the children of Israel,“ No person among you may eat blood, nor may any stranger who lives as a foreigner among you eat blood.”“‘ Whatever man there is of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who live as foreigners among them, who takes in hunting any animal or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood, and cover it with dust.For as to the life of all flesh, its blood is with its life. Therefore I said to the children of Israel,“ You shall not eat the blood of any kind of flesh; for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.”

Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

“ Don’t make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, lest they play the prostitute after their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and one call you and you eat of his sacrifice;and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods, and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods.

Only you shall not eat its blood. You shall pour it out on the ground like water.

Don’t be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written,“ The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”Let’s not commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty- three thousand fell.

For we have spent enough of our past time doing the desire of the Gentiles, and having walked in lewdness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.

Flee sexual immorality!“ Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

Therefore tell them,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood. So should you possess the land?

Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted with blood.Thus they were defiled with their works, and prostituted themselves in their deeds.

for they called the people to the sacrifices of their gods. The people ate and bowed down to their gods.

Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

You shall most certainly not make gods of silver or gods of gold for yourselves to be alongside me.

and the people pounced on the plunder, and took sheep, cattle, and calves, and killed them on the ground; and the people ate them with the blood.

that again when I come my God would humble me before you, and I would mourn for many of those who have sinned before now, and not repented of the uncleanness, sexual immorality, and lustfulness which they committed.

Then Jacob said to his household, and to all who were with him,“ Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, change your garments.

But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortionist. Don’t even eat with such a person.

lest there be any sexually immoral person, or profane person, like Esau, who sold his birthright for one meal.

Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say.The cup of blessing which we bless, isn’t it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn’t it a sharing of the body of Christ?Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.Consider Israel according to the flesh. Don’t those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons.You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?“ All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable.“ All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up.Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,for“ the earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.”But if one of those who don’t believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.But if anyone says to you,“ This was offered to idols,” don’t eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For“ the earth is the Lord’s, with all its fullness.”

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving.For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.

Only be sure that you don’t eat the blood; for the blood is the life. You shall not eat the life with the meat.You shall not eat it. You shall pour it out on the earth like water.You shall not eat it, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, when you do that which is right in Yahweh’s eyes.

For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,

“ Therefore tell the house of Israel,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Do you pollute yourselves in the way of your fathers? Do you play the prostitute after their abominations?When you offer your gifts, when you make your sons pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? Should I be inquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you!

But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;

He had in his hand a little open book. He set his right foot on the sea, and his left on the land.

“ Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s dainties, nor with the wine which he drank. Therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

You shall not eat of anything that dies of itself. You may give it to the foreigner living among you who is within your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to Yahweh your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.

“ You shall have no other gods before me.“ You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,

The voice which I heard from heaven, again speaking with me, said,“ Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.”
