我虽然是自由之身，不受任何人支配，但我甘愿成为众人的奴仆，为了要得到更多的人。面对犹太人我就做犹太人，为了要赢得犹太人。面对守律法的人，我这不受律法束缚的人就守律法，为了要赢得守律法的人。面对没有律法的人，我就像个没有律法的人，为了要赢得没有律法的人。其实我并非在上帝的律法之外，我是在基督的律法之下。面对软弱的人我就做软弱的人，为了要得软弱的人。面对什么人，我就做什么人，为了要尽可能地救一些人。我做的一切都是为了福音的缘故，为了要与人分享福音的祝福。

我很惊讶，你们竟然那么快就背弃了借着基督的恩典呼召你们的上帝，去追随别的福音！其实那并不是福音，只是某些人扰乱你们的信仰，想篡改基督的福音。即便是我们或天使，若另传福音给你们，与我们以前传给你们的相悖，也该受咒诅。我们已经说过，现在我再说一次：如果有人向你们传别的福音，跟你们以前接受的不同，那人该受咒诅。我现在是要赢得人的赞同吗？还是要赢得上帝的赞同？难道我是要讨好人吗？如果我仍旧要讨好人，我就不是基督的奴仆了。

因此，我尽管可以奉基督的名吩咐你去做当做的事，然而我这上了年纪又为基督耶稣的缘故被囚禁的保罗宁愿凭爱心求你，

他们走遍各城，把耶路撒冷的使徒和长老所定下的规条教导当地的门徒遵守。

我们选派犹大和西拉两位代表跟他们一起去，向你们报告我们的决定。

圣灵吩咐我跟他们同去，不要犹豫。就这样，我和这六位弟兄一同到了哥尼流家。

如果你这样做，并且上帝也这样吩咐你，你就能承受得住，百姓也可以平安地回家。”

我想，我一点也不比那些“超级使徒”差。

所以我们一致决定选派代表，随我们敬爱的巴拿巴和保罗去你们那里。

彼得就留他们住了一夜。第二天，彼得和他们以及几个约帕的弟兄一同出发了。

亲爱的弟兄姊妹，我一直迫切地想写信跟你们谈谈我们所共享的救恩，但现在我觉得有必要写信劝勉你们竭力护卫一次就完整地交给圣徒的真道。
