吾之得有今日、皆賴天主之寵佑；惟予黽勉勞苦、視他人有過無不及、則未辜負天主之寵佑也。雖然、是亦天主寵佑而已、初非予之功也。

眾問曰：『汝目何由得啟？』

夫亞波羅何人耶？葆樂何人耶？不過天主之僕、銜主之命、各盡其能、以使爾等信奉真道者耳。我種植之、亞波羅從而灌溉之；而使其發榮滋長者、則天主也。種植者與灌溉者均不足貴也；所可貴者惟賜其發榮滋長之天主耳。夫種植者與灌溉者原屬一體、且亦必各得其工作之酬勞。吾儕乃天主所假之手、爾等則為天主之田園、天主之第宅也。

爾其寓書於斐拉代非教會之守護天神曰：彼至聖至真掌握大維之管籥所啟無人能閉、所閉無人能啟者、有所曉諭於爾：吾知爾之行實。識之哉、吾已置一洞開之門於爾前、人莫得而閉焉。蓋爾力量薄弱、竟能篤守吾道、而未背棄吾名。識之哉、

眾聞是語、悉皆默契而歸榮天主、曰：『由是觀之、天主普賜洪恩於異族、使由悔改而獲生命矣。』

葆樂致敬、並以主命宣揚教義、及所行於異邦者盡告之。眾聞之、無不歸榮天主、謂葆樂曰：『爾觀猶太人之信教者盈千累萬、篤守摩西律法；惟彼等聞人言爾於寄居異邦之猶太人、嘗勸其背棄摩西、勿為其子行割禮、亦勿遵循規律、眾聞爾至、將何以處？

倘若全會同人、於聚集時、相約共操方言；其時適有無術或不信之人、亦來到會、不將謂爾等作夢囈耶？
