保罗和巴拿巴得知后，就逃往吕高尼的路司得和特庇二城并周围的地区，

保罗来到特庇，然后又到路司得。那里有个门徒名叫提摩太，母亲是信主的犹太人，父亲是希腊人。

找到后，便带他回安提阿。他们在教会待了一年之久，教导了许多人。门徒被称为“基督徒”就是从安提阿开始的。

有个名叫犹推古的青年坐在窗台上听道。保罗讲了许久，犹推古不胜困倦睡着了，竟从三楼掉了下去。别人将他抱起来时，他已经死了。保罗下去伏在他身上，抱着他对众人说：“不要惊慌，他还活着！”保罗说完就回到楼上，与大家一同掰饼、用餐，又谈了很久，直到天亮才离去。大家非常欣慰地把活过来的犹推古送回了家。

我们心里觉得必死无疑，这使我们不倚靠自己，只倚靠使死人复活的上帝。祂曾救我们脱离死亡的威胁，将来还要救我们。我们深信祂必继续救我们。

这场风波平息后，保罗召集众门徒勉励一番后，便辞别他们去了马其顿。

之后，二人和门徒同住了很久。

二人离开监狱，来到吕底亚家中，见了弟兄姊妹，劝勉一番之后，便离开了那里。

似乎默默无闻，却是家喻户晓；似乎快死了，看啊！我们却仍然活着；受严刑拷打，却没有丧命；

彼得摆手示意他们安静，然后把主怎样领他出狱的经过告诉大家，又说：“把这事告诉雅各和其他弟兄姊妹。”交待完了，他便离开那里，往其他地方去了。

当他们做完见证以后，从无底坑上来的兽要和他们交战，并战胜他们，把他们杀掉。他们便陈尸在大城的街上，这大城按寓意名叫所多玛，又名埃及，是他们的主被钉在十字架上的地方。三天半之久，他们的尸体不得埋葬，各民族、各部落、各语言族群、各国家的人都观看他们的尸体。地上万民便兴高采烈，互相送礼道贺，因为这两位先知曾使地上的人受苦。三天半过后，上帝的生命之气进入二人里面，他们便站立起来。看见的人都害怕极了！接着天上有大声音呼唤他们说：“上这里来！”他们就在敌人的注视下驾云升上天去。

坚固各地门徒的信心，鼓励他们要持守信仰，并且说：“我们在进入上帝国的道路上必经历许多苦难。”
