但帖撒羅尼迦的猶太人知道上帝之道也在庇哩亞給保羅傳布開了，也就往那裏去，搖動羣眾，攪亂他們。

那七天快要完的時候，有亞西亞的猶太人見保羅在殿裏，就激動所有的羣眾、下手拿他，

會堂散了會，猶太人和虔敬歸依猶太教的、有許多人跟從保羅和巴拿巴。二人就對他們談論，勸導他們要堅心持守着上帝之恩。

亞瑪謝又對阿摩司說：『見異象的人哪、走吧，逃往猶大地去吧！在那裏找口飯喫，在那裏傳神言吧！

我親愛的弟兄們請聽，上帝豈不是揀選了世人以為窮的而富於信仰，以承受他所應許給愛他之人的國麼？你們呢、反倒侮辱窮人。豈不是富足人壓制你們，拖你們上法庭麼？

他們又聳動了人民、長老和經學士、突然而來、抓住司提反，把他帶到議院，

那時有猶太人——從天下各國來的虔誠人——住在耶路撒冷。

我可以給他們作證，他們對上帝倒有熱心，只是不按着真認識罷了。

只是從來沒有人像亞哈的；他出賣了他自己、去行永恆主所看為壞的事；王后耶洗別教唆了他，

一聽見永恆主的話、就戰戰兢兢的人哪，你們聽永恆主的話吧！『你們的弟兄、那些恨惡你們、使你們為我名的緣故被趕逐的、曾譏笑說：「願永恆主得榮耀啊！讓我們看看你們的喜樂啊！」其實呢、蒙羞抱愧的倒是這種人呢！

人在這城裏逼迫你們，你們要逃到別的城。我實在告訴你們，以色列的城市、你們還沒走完，人子就到了。

保羅卻對他們說：『我們本是羅馬人，又是沒受定罪的；他們在公眾面前打了我們，給下在監裏；如今要私下裏把我們攆出去啊？絕對不行！不，他們要親自來，領我們出去！』衙役把這些話報告官長們。官長們聽說他們是羅馬人。就害怕，便來勸他們，領他們出監，請求他們離開那城。

弟兄們，看看你們的蒙召吧：按肉身說、有智慧的並不多，有能力的並不多，屬貴族的並不多。但上帝卻揀選了世界上愚拙的，要使有智慧的慚愧；上帝又揀選了世界上軟弱的，要使強壯的慚愧；上帝也揀選了世界上寒微的、被藐視的、無有的，要廢掉那些有的，使一切血肉之人、在上帝面前、都不能誇口。

他們就求耶穌離開他們的境界。

那些猶太人不但殺害主耶穌和神言傳講師，並且驅逐我們；不但不使上帝喜歡，並且跟一切人作對，攔阻我們向外國人講論而使他們得救——這無非是要讓他們自己的罪一直貫滿的；但上帝的義怒終於臨到他們到極點了。

司提反被殺掉、掃羅也贊同着。就在那一天就起了大逼迫、苦害那在耶路撒冷的教會；使徒以外，眾人都四散在猶太和撒瑪利亞各地區。
