天主於創世以前、夙在基督之身、予吾人以恩簡、俾吾人得成聖潔無瑕、對越所天。

然奚止為一國之民而已哉？即普天率土之天主子女、亦將會而集之、使成一體。

兄弟則為主之所愛、吾儕尚可不為爾等恆謝洪恩乎？蓋天主自始予爾等以簡拔、俾爾等受聖神之感化、篤信真理、以蒙救恩。其召爾也、以吾儕之傳福音為因緣、而以爾等得沾吾主耶穌基督之光榮為目的。

緣基督之偉功、拔吾人於罪中、起吾人於已死、俾吾人得與基督同享生命；且天主實已賜吾人托基督而復活、托基督而位於諸天之上矣。夫天主之所以為此者、乃欲假吾人因基督耶穌而受之慈惠、以昭示其無窮之恩德於後世耳。蓋爾因信而蒙救、實憑聖寵；凡此皆非爾所固有、純出天主之惠賜。無功而受賜夫孰得而自矜？即吾人本身亦莫非天主之化工、藉基督耶穌為行善而締造。然則吾人之行善、乃天主之成命耳。

蓋予亦屬人權下、士卒又處予權下、諭此曰去即去、呼彼曰來即來、凡有所命、僕必從焉。』

彼等既與葆樂約期、即有多人來其寓所、葆樂自朝至暮向彼等證明天國之道、關於耶穌之事、引徵摩西之律與先知書、以詳說之。

吾儕遵葆樂之意、先行登舟、駛至亞朔、以迎候之；彼則步行。

及天主於信徒所施神力之廣大無邊也。

斯德法一家、乃亞該亞之首先奉教者、專心為聖教服務、此兄弟之所知也。

頌讚天主、深得民歡、主復日以獲救者充實其群。

最後尚望兄弟為吾儕祈禱、俾主之聖道日見發揚光大、如在爾中；

展誦慰言、無不欣喜。

於是舉邑騰歡。

葆樂、巴拿巴力與之辯。眾乃推定葆樂巴拿巴及其他同道數人、就耶路撒冷之宗徒長老決之；

多有納其言而受洗者、一日之內、歸化者約三千人、

當葆樂等之出、眾請於次一禮日重臨佈道。
