Both Paul and Barnabas replied courageously,“ It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we are turning to the Gentiles.

Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly:“ We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.

“ Therefore be advised that this salvation from God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen!”

but I declared to those in Damascus first, and then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds consistent with repentance.

God raised up his servant and sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each one of you from your iniquities.”

For this reason I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.

Then he said to me,‘ Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

Look, you will summon nations you did not previously know; nations that did not previously know you will run to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he bestows honor on you.

but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, for the Jew first and also the Greek.

Now when Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul became wholly absorbed with proclaiming the word, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.When they opposed him and reviled him, he protested by shaking out his clothes and said to them,“ Your blood be on your own heads! I am guiltless! From now on I will go to the Gentiles!”

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Brothers, descendants of Abraham’s family, and those Gentiles among you who fear God, the message of this salvation has been sent to us.

But again I ask, didn’t Israel understand? First Moses says,“ I will make you jealous by those who are not a nation; with a senseless nation I will provoke you to anger.”And Isaiah is even bold enough to say,“ I was found by those who did not seek me; I became well known to those who did not ask for me.”But about Israel he says,“ All day long I held out my hands to this disobedient and stubborn people!”

But Jesus said to him,“ A man once gave a great banquet and invited many guests.At the time for the banquet he sent his slave to tell those who had been invited,‘ Come, because everything is now ready.’But one after another they all began to make excuses. The first said to him,‘ I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please excuse me.’Another said,‘ I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going out to examine them. Please excuse me.’Another said,‘ I just got married, and I cannot come.’So the slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the master of the household was furious and said to his slave,‘ Go out quickly to the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’Then the slave said,‘ Sir, what you instructed has been done, and there is still room.’So the master said to his slave,‘ Go out to the highways and country roads and urge people to come in, so that my house will be filled.For I tell you, not one of those individuals who were invited will taste my banquet!’”

He came to what was his own, but his own people did not receive him.

and repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

I ask then, they did not stumble into an irrevocable fall, did they? Absolutely not! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make Israel jealous.Now if their transgression means riches for the world and their defeat means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full restoration bring?Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Seeing that I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,

“ You stubborn people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit, like your ancestors did!

who are Israelites. To them belong the adoption as sons, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple worship, and the promises.To them belong the patriarchs, and from them, by human descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever! Amen.

The rest seized his slaves, insolently mistreated them, and killed them.The king was furious! He sent his soldiers, and they put those murderers to death and set their city on fire.Then he said to his slaves,‘ The wedding is ready, but the ones who had been invited were not worthy.So go into the main streets and invite everyone you find to the wedding banquet.’And those slaves went out into the streets and gathered all they found, both bad and good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

And now, Lord, pay attention to their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your message with great courage,while you extend your hand to heal, and to bring about miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God courageously.

They have made me jealous with false gods, enraging me with their worthless gods; so I will make them jealous with a people they do not recognize, with a nation slow to learn I will enrage them.

The wicked person flees when there is no one pursuing, but the righteous person is as confident as a lion.

Then the LORD said to Moses:“ I have seen this people. Look what a stiff-necked people they are!So now, leave me alone so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them, and I will make from you a great nation.”

and most of the brothers and sisters, having confidence in the Lord because of my imprisonment, now more than ever dare to speak the word fearlessly.

Go instead to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

And if the house is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.And if anyone will not welcome you or listen to your message, shake the dust off your feet as you leave that house or that town.I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for the region of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town!

So now the LORD says, the one who formed me from birth to be his servant– he did this to restore Jacob to himself, so that Israel might be gathered to him; and I will be honored in the LORD’s sight, for my God is my source of strength–he says,“ Is it too insignificant a task for you to be my servant, to reestablish the tribes of Jacob, and restore the remnant of Israel? I will make you a light to the nations, so you can bring my deliverance to the remote regions of the earth.”This is what the LORD, the protector of Israel, their Holy One, says to the one who is despised and rejected by nations, a servant of rulers:“ Kings will see and rise in respect, princes will bow down, because of the faithful LORD, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen you.”This is what the LORD says:“ At the time I decide to show my favor, I will respond to you; in the day of deliverance I will help you; I will protect you and make you a covenant mediator for people, to rebuild the land and to reassign the desolate property.

Moving on from Perga, they arrived at Pisidian Antioch, and on the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down.

You people worship what you do not know. We worship what we know, because salvation is from the Jews.

quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength in weakness, became mighty in battle, put foreign armies to flight,

When they arrived in Salamis, they began to proclaim the word of God in the Jewish synagogues.( Now they also had John as their assistant.)

When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and discovered that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized these men had been with Jesus.

Pray for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speak– that I may confidently make known the mystery of the gospel,for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may be able to speak boldly as I ought to speak.
