大祭司和他的同黨撒都該人都起來，滿心忌恨，

他們見你們不再與他們同奔那縱情放蕩的路，就覺得奇怪，毀謗你們。

可是有些人心裡剛硬，不受勸化，在群眾面前毀謗這道，保羅就離開他們，也叫門徒與他們分開。他每天在推喇奴學院跟人辯論。

阻撓我們向外族人傳道，不讓他們得救，以致惡貫滿盈。神的忿怒終必臨到他們身上。

聖經說：“神愛他那安置在我們裡面的靈，愛到嫉妒的地步”（或譯：“神安置在我們裡面的靈，愛到嫉妒的地步”），你們想這話是徒然的嗎？

當時有幾個稱為“自由人”會堂的人，就是從古利奈和亞歷山太來的人，另外還有基利家人和亞西亞人，他們出面與司提反辯論，但司提反靠著聖靈和智慧說話，他們就抵擋不住。

因為你們仍然是屬肉體的。在你們當中既然有嫉妒紛爭，你們不還是屬肉體，照著世人的方式而行嗎？

這些人充滿了各樣的不義、邪惡、貪心、陰險；滿懷嫉妒、兇殺、好鬥、欺詐、幸災樂禍；又是好說讒言的、

“虛偽的經學家和法利賽人哪，你們有禍了！你們在人面前關了天國的門，自己不進去，連正要進去的人，你們也不准他們進去。﹙有些抄本有第

我看見各樣的勞碌和各樣精巧的工作，都是出於人與人彼此的競爭。這也是虛空，也是捕風。

“那時，大兒子正在田裡。他回來離家不遠的時候，聽見音樂跳舞的聲音，就叫了一個僕人來，問他這是怎麼一回事。僕人說：‘你弟弟回來了，你父親因為他平安無恙地回來，就宰了肥牛犢。’大兒子就生氣，不肯進去；父親出來勸他。他對父親說：‘你看，我服事你這麼多年，從來沒有違背過你的命令，可是你沒有給我一隻山羊羔，叫我和朋友一同歡樂。但你這個兒子，常常跟娼妓在一起，花盡了你的財產，他一回來，你倒為他宰殺肥牛犢！’

但猶太人嫉妒起來，招聚了一些市井流氓，糾合成群，騷動全城，衝進了耶孫的家，搜索保羅和西拉，要把他們交給民眾。

如果你們心中存著刻薄的嫉妒和自私，就不可誇口，也不可說謊抵擋真理。這種智慧不是從天上來的，而是屬地的、屬血氣的和屬鬼魔的。因為凡有嫉妒和自私的地方，就必有擾亂和各樣的壞事。

耶和華啊！你的手高舉，他們還是看不見。願他們因看見你對子民的熱心而慚愧；願那為你的敵人預備的火吞滅他們。

他哥哥們都嫉妒他，他父親卻把這事記在心裡。

摩西對他說：“你為我的緣故嫉妒嗎？但願耶和華的人民都是先知，但願耶和華把他的靈降在他們身上。”

嫉妒、醉酒、荒宴，和類似的事。我從前早就告訴過你們，現在又事先告訴你們：行這些事的人，必定不能承受神的國。

他知道他們是因為嫉妒才把耶穌交了來。
