which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory.

When they had appointed him a day, many people came to him at his lodging. He explained to them, testifying about God’s Kingdom, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning until evening.

But they, passing on from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia. They went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down.After the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying,“ Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak.”

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to save many people alive, as is happening today.

But Jesus answered them,“ You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

But they will do all these things to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me.

although I used to be a blasphemer, a persecutor, and insolent. However, I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must be so?”In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes,“ Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
