As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,“ Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit spoke.“ Set apart Barnabas and Saul for me,” he said.“ I have appointed them to do special work.”

One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,“ Appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.”

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called[ to be] an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called[ me] by his grace,

But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.

And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle,( I speak the truth in Christ,[ and] lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.

( For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we[ should go] unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the LORD before Eli the priest.

And she[ was] a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served[ God] with fastings and prayers night and day.

Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid[ their] hands on them, they sent[ them] away.

After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

And he appointed[ certain] of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:

And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as[ was] Aaron.

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD[ for] an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one[ for] a sin offering, and the other[ for] a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them[ for] an offering unto the LORD.Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Defraud ye not one the other, except[ it be] with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required:And Obededom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah[ to be] porters:And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that[ was] at Gibeon,To offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and[ to do] according to all that is written in the law of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy[ endureth] for ever;And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun[ were] porters.And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.

That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
