The Law and the Prophets were read aloud. Then the leaders of the synagogue sent word to Paul and his companions. They said,“ Brothers, do you have any words of instruction for the people? If you do, please speak.”

After the usual readings from the books of Moses and the prophets, those in charge of the service sent them this message:“ Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for the people, come and give it.”

因為論到摩西嘛、從古代以來，在各城裏自有宣傳他的人，每安息日在會堂裏、他的書都被宣讀着。』

有一個會堂管事、名叫睚魯、來了；看見耶穌，就俯伏在他腳前，

弟兄們，我求你們要容納這勸勉的話；因為我給你們寫信、也只是簡略罷了。

耶穌來到拿撒勒、他長大的地方，照他素常所行的在安息之日進了會堂，站起來要宣讀。有人把神言人以賽亞的書卷遞給他；他把書卷打開，找到一個地方、寫着說：『主的靈在我身上，因為他膏立了我去傳好消息給窮人，差遣了我去宣傳俘虜們可得釋放，瞎眼的可得看見，打發那受壓迫的得釋放，

而在耶路撒冷居住的人和他們的議員卻不認識這個人，也不明白每安息日所宣讀的神言人的話，竟給定了罪、而應驗了這些神言人的話。

會堂管事基利司布、同他全家信了主；還有許多哥林多人也聽了就信，並且受洗。

眾人拉住了會堂管事所提尼，在審判臺前擊打；這些事迦流都不管。

於是眾人都充滿了聖靈、說起話來，照聖靈給他們去發表的。

『律法和神言人到約翰為止；從此上帝國的福音就傳開了，人人用力擠着要進入。

『同人、弟兄、父老們，請聽我如今對你們所分訴的。』

『同人弟兄們，關於族長大衛的事、我可以坦然不怕反駁地對你們說，他不但死了，而且埋葬了，他的塋墓直到這一天還在我們中間呢。

『同人弟兄們，聖靈藉着大衛的口豫先說到猶大的那一段經、必須得應驗。這猶大是捉拿耶穌的人的領路者；

但傳講神言的卻是對人講建立勸勉和撫慰。

眾人聽了，心裏被扎，就對彼得和其餘的使徒說：『同人弟兄們，我們應當怎樣行？』

或是勸慰的，就該用在勸慰上。分給的呢、要用慷慨的心；督導的呢、要用熱切；憐恤人的呢、要歡悅喜樂。

經過了許多辯論，彼得就站起來，對他們說：『同人弟兄們，你們知道、從早先的日子、上帝在你們中間就施行了揀選，使外國人藉着我的口得聽福音之道而相信。

既走遍了那些區域，用許多話鼓勵他們，就來到希臘。

司提反說：『同人，弟兄父老們，請聽。我們的先祖亞伯拉罕在米所波大米、還沒住在喀蘭的時候、榮耀之上帝向他顯現，
