人群中有一位會堂的主管名叫雅魯，他一見到耶穌便俯伏在祂腳前，

弟兄姊妹，我簡短地寫信給你們，希望你們聽我勸勉的話。

祂來到自己長大的地方拿撒勒，照常在安息日進會堂，並站起來誦讀聖經。有人把以賽亞先知書遞給祂，祂打開書卷，找到這樣一段經文：「主的靈在我身上，因為祂膏立了我，讓我傳福音給貧窮的人，差遣我宣告被擄的人得釋放、瞎眼的人得見光明、受欺壓的人得自由，

可是耶路撒冷的人和他們的官長不知道耶穌是基督，雖然每個安息日都誦讀先知的信息，卻把基督判死罪。這正應驗了先知們的話。

會堂主管基利司布和他全家都信了主，許多哥林多人聽了道後，也信了主，受了洗。

到了庭外，眾人揪住會堂主管所提尼，把他痛打一頓。迦流卻置之不理。

大家都被聖靈充滿，得到聖靈所賜的才能，說起別的語言來。

約翰還沒有來以前，律法書和先知書是你們的準則。他出來後，上帝國的福音開始廣傳，人人都在努力進上帝的國。

「各位父老兄弟，請聽我解釋！」

「弟兄們，我肯定地對你們說，先祖大衛死了，埋葬了，他的墳墓至今還在這裡。

「弟兄們，關於帶人抓耶穌的猶大，聖靈藉著大衛的口早已預言，這經文必須要應驗。

但先知講道是對人講的，為了要造就、鼓勵、安慰人。

他們聽了彼得的話，覺得扎心，就對彼得和其他使徒說：「弟兄們，我們該怎麼辦呢？」

勸勉的，要誠心勸勉；施捨的，要慷慨施捨；治理的，要殷勤治理；憐憫的，要甘心憐憫。

經過許多辯論之後，彼得站起來對大家說：「弟兄們，你們都知道，上帝早已在你們當中揀選我去向外族人傳道，讓他們也可以聽到福音並信主。

他走遍那一帶，用許多勸勉的話鼓勵當地的門徒。之後，他又去希臘，

司提凡說：「各位父老兄弟，請聽我說！我們的祖先亞伯拉罕還未遷到哈蘭之前，住在美索不達米亞，榮耀的上帝向他顯現，說，
