掃羅行於山左、大闢與從者行於山右、大闢畏懼、逋逃甚速、掃羅率眾環攻、將欲執之。有使忽至、告掃羅曰、非利士人侵伐我國、請爾速返。

為此、請爾曹相見互論、蓋我今繫以鐵索、特為以色列民所望之事耳、

予安然偃卧、錫我安居、惟耶和華而已。

我儕見獄、鍵閉甚固、守者立於門外、啟時、闐其無人、

我今解爾手桎、如爾欲偕我往巴比倫、我必眷顧爾、如爾不欲、何處無地、隨意可居。

我曰、必使之散處四方、而人忘其所自、
