Then I remembered the Lord’s words.‘ John baptized with water,’ he had said.‘ But you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

我用水給你們施洗，他卻要用聖靈給你們施洗。”

問他們說：“你們信的時候，受了聖靈沒有？”他們說：“沒有，連聖靈賜下來這件事，我們也沒有聽過。”保羅問：“那麼你們受的是甚麼洗呢？”他們說：“是約翰的洗禮。”保羅說：“約翰施的是悔改的洗禮，他告訴人民當信在他以後要來的那一位，就是耶穌。”

約翰對眾人說：“我用水給你們施洗，但那能力比我更大的要來，我就是給他解鞋帶都沒有資格。他要用聖靈與火給你們施洗。

但保惠師，就是父因我的名要差來的聖靈，他要把一切事教導你們，也要使你們想起我對你們所說過的一切話。

你們要因我的責備回轉，我就把我的心意（“心意”或譯：“靈”）向你們傾吐，把我的話指示你們。

我用水給你們施洗，表示你們悔改；但在我以後要來的那一位，能力比我更大，我就是替他提鞋也沒有資格。他要用聖靈與火給你們施洗。

我們無論是猶太人，是希臘人，是作奴隸的，是自由的，都在那一位聖靈裡受了洗，成為一個身體，都飲了那一位聖靈。

因為我要把水澆灌乾渴之處，把河水澆灌乾旱之地；我必把我的靈澆灌你的後裔，把我的福降給你的子孫。他們要從草中生長起來，像溪水旁的柳樹。這個必說：‘我是屬耶和華的’；那個也必以雅各的名稱呼自己；另一個必親手寫上‘我是屬耶和華的’，並且要以以色列的名字替自己命名。”

親愛的，我現在寫給你們的是第二封信。在這兩封信中，我都用提醒的話來激發你們真誠的心，

“以後，我要把我的靈澆灌所有的人。你們的兒女要說預言，你們的老年人要作異夢，你們的少年人要見異象。

我把這些事告訴了你們，讓你們到了那個時候，可以想起我告訴過你們了。“我起初沒有把這些事告訴你們，因為我跟你們在一起。

到那日，大山都必滴下甜酒，小山都必流出奶，猶大的一切溪流，都必水流不息。必有泉源從耶和華的殿裡流出來，灌溉什亭谷。

我必用潔淨的水灑在你們身上，你們就潔淨了；我必潔淨你們的一切污穢，使你們遠離所有可憎的像。

約翰回答：“我是用水施洗，但有一位站在你們中間，是你們不認識的；

我凡事以身作則，你們必須照樣辛勞，扶助軟弱的人，並且記念主耶穌的話：‘施比受更為有福。’”

她們就想起他的話，

我本來不認識他，但那差我來用水施洗的對我說：‘你看見聖靈降下來，停留在誰身上，誰就是用聖靈施洗的。’

他就救了我們，並不是由於我們所行的義，而是照著他的憐憫，藉著重生的洗和聖靈的更新。聖靈就是神藉著我們的救主耶穌基督豐豐富富澆灌在我們身上的，
