那些奉割礼、和彼得同来的信徒，见圣灵的恩赐也浇在外邦人身上，就都希奇；

所有陪彼得一起來的割禮派的信徒，看見所賜的聖靈也被傾注在外邦人身上，都十分驚訝，

奉割禮之信徒、偕彼得而來者、因聖神之賜、亦注於異邦人、則皆駭異、

奉割禮而信之人、偕彼得至、見聖神賦及異邦人、奇之、

受割禮之門徒、偕彼得同來者、見聖神之賜、亦注於異邦人、皆奇異之、

與伯鐸祿偕來之信徒、割禮中人也；見聖神之恩賜、亦傾注於異邦人之身、殊為詫異、

彼得就留他们住了一夜。第二天，彼得和他们以及几个约帕的弟兄一同出发了。

彼得说：“你们每一个人都要悔改，奉耶稣基督的名受洗，使你们的罪得到赦免，你们就必领受上帝所赐的圣灵。

因此，你们要记住，从前按照肉体来说你们是外族人，那些肉体上受过人手所行割礼的以色列人称你们为“没有受过割礼的”。

我们生来是犹太人，不是外族罪人，

“我开口讲话时，圣灵降在他们身上，跟当初降在我们身上的情形一模一样。我就想起主的话，‘约翰用水施洗，但你们要受圣灵的洗礼。’既然上帝给他们恩赐，就如我们信主耶稣基督时给我们一样，我是谁，怎能拦阻上帝？”大家听了便安静下来，转而归荣耀给上帝，说：“如此看来，上帝把悔改得永生的机会也赐给了外族人。”

你们从前死在过犯和未被割除的罪恶本性中，但现在上帝却使你们与基督一同活了过来。上帝赦免了我们一切的过犯，撤销了指控我们违背律法的罪状，将它和基督一同钉在了十字架上，

但基督替我们受了咒诅，从而救赎我们脱离了律法的咒诅，因为圣经上说：“凡挂在木头上的人都是受咒诅的。”这样，赐给亚伯拉罕的祝福可以借着基督耶稣临到外族人，使我们也可以借着信得到上帝应许赐给我们的圣灵。

现在祂升到上帝的右边，从天父领受了所应许的圣灵，并将圣灵浇灌下来，你们今天也耳闻目睹了。

自古以来，上帝没有让人知道这奥秘，如今祂借着圣灵将这奥秘启示给祂的圣使徒和先知。这奥秘就是外族人能够在基督耶稣里借着福音与以色列人同做后嗣，同为一体，同享应许。上帝运用大能赐给我恩典，叫我成为这福音的使者。我本来比最卑微的圣徒还卑微，却蒙上帝赐我这恩典，让我把基督那测不透的丰富传给外族人，

“你竟然去未受割礼之人的家，还和他们一同吃饭！”
