Then Jesus came to them. He said,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

“ So be sure of this, all you people of Israel. You nailed Jesus to the cross. But God has made him both Lord and Messiah.”

They will make war against the Lamb. But the Lamb will have victory over them. That’s because he is the most powerful Lord of all and the greatest King of all. His appointed, chosen and faithful followers will be with him.”

Scripture says that God“ has put everything under his control.”( Psalm 8:6) It says that“ everything” has been put under him. But it is clear that this does not include God himself. That’s because God put everything under Christ.

Here is the name that is written on the rider’s robe and on his thigh. the greatest king of all and the most powerful lord of all

He has gone into heaven. He is at God’s right hand. Angels, authorities and powers are under his control.

“ My Father has given all things to me. The Father is the only one who knows the Son. And the only ones who know the Father are the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to make him known.

All this is from God. He brought us back to himself through Christ’s death on the cross. And he has given us the task of bringing others back to him through Christ.God was bringing the world back to himself through Christ. He did not hold people’s sins against them. God has trusted us with the message that people may be brought back to him.So we are Christ’s official messengers. It is as if God were making his appeal through us. Here is what Christ wants us to beg you to do. Come back to God!Christ didn’t have any sin. But God made him become sin for us. So we can be made right with God because of what Christ has done for us.

God was pleased to bring all things back to himself. That’s because of what Christ has done. These things include everything on earth and in heaven. God made peace through Christ’s blood, by his death on the cross.

What the prophets said was meant for you. The covenant God made with your people long ago is yours also. He said to Abraham,‘ All nations on earth will be blessed through your children.’( Genesis 22:18; 26:4)God raised up Jesus, who serves him. God sent him first to you. He did it to bless you. He wanted to turn each of you from your evil ways.”

Your throne is the very throne of God. Your kingdom will last for ever and ever. You will rule by treating everyone fairly.

The Lord who rules over all says,“ I will send my messenger. He will prepare my way for me. Then suddenly the Lord you are looking for will come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant will come. He is the one you long for.”

God, give the king the ability to judge fairly. He is your royal son. Help him to do what is right.May he rule your people in the right way. May he be fair to those among your people who are hurting.May the mountains and the hills produce rich crops, because the people will do what is right.

Tell me what will happen. State your case. Talk it over together. Who spoke long ago about what would happen? Who said it a long time ago? I did. I am the Lord. I am the one and only God. I always do what is right. I am the one who saves. There is no God but me.“ All you who live anywhere on earth, turn to me and be saved. I am God. There is no other God.I have made a promise in my own name. I have spoken with complete honesty. I will not take back a single word. I said,‘ Everyone will kneel down to me. Everyone’s mouth will make promises in my name.’They will say,‘ The Lord is the only one who can save us. Only he can make us strong.’ ” All those who have been angry with the Lord will come to him. And they will be put to shame.But the Lord will save all the people of Israel. And so they will boast about the Lord.

The first man came from the dust of the earth. The second man came from heaven.

The Father loves the Son and has put everything into his hands.Anyone who believes in the Son has eternal life. Anyone who does not believe in the Son will not have life. God’s anger remains on them.”

God’s first and only Son is over all things. When God brings him into the world, he says,“ Let all God’s angels worship him.”( Deuteronomy 32:43)Here is something else God says about the angels.“ God makes his angels to be like spirits. He makes those who serve him to be like flashes of lightning.”( Psalm 104:4)But here is what he says about the Son.“ You are God. Your throne will last for ever and ever. Your kingdom will be ruled by justice.You have loved what is right and hated what is evil. So your God has placed you above your companions. He has filled you with joy by pouring the sacred oil on your head.”( Psalm 45:6, 7)He also says,“ Lord, in the beginning you made the earth secure. You placed it on its foundations. The heavens are the work of your hands.They will pass away. But you remain. They will all wear out like a piece of clothing.You will roll them up like a robe. They will be changed as a person changes clothes. But you remain the same. Your years will never end.”( Psalm 102:25–27)

“ We are telling you the good news. What God promised our people long ago

I am the Living One. I was dead. But now look! I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys to Death and Hell.

At one time you were far away from God. But now you belong to Christ Jesus. He spilled his blood for you. This has brought you near to God.Christ himself is our peace. He has made Jews and Gentiles into one group of people. He has destroyed the hatred that was like a wall between us.Through his body on the cross, Christ set aside the law with all its commands and rules. He planned to create one new people out of Jews and Gentiles. He wanted to make peace between them.He planned to bring both Jews and Gentiles back to God as one body. He planned to do this through the cross. On that cross, Christ put to death their hatred toward one another.He came and preached peace to you who were far away. He also preached peace to those who were near.Through Christ we both come to the Father by the power of one Holy Spirit.

Our Lord Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep. The God who gives peace brought him back from the dead. He did it because of the blood of the eternal covenant. Now may God

Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means“ king of what is right.” Also,“ king of Salem” means“ king of peace.”Melchizedek has no father or mother. He has no family line. His days have no beginning. His life has no end. He remains a priest forever. In this way, he is like the Son of God.

May godly people do well as long as he rules. May they have more than they need as long as the moon lasts.

I know he’s ready to save those who have respect for him. Then his glory can be seen in our land.God’s truth and faithful love join together. His peace and holiness kiss each other.

But in these last days, he has spoken to us through his Son. He is the one whom God appointed to receive all things. God also made everything through him.

“ A new day is coming,” announces the Lord.“ At that time I will raise up for David’s royal line a godly Branch. He will be a King who will rule wisely. He will do what is fair and right in the land.In his days Judah will be saved. Israel will live in safety. And the Branch will be called The Lord Who Makes Us Right With Himself.

Peter replied,“ All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.The promise is for you and your children. It is also for all who are far away. It is for all whom the Lord our God will choose.”

The Son is the exact likeness of God, who can’t be seen. The Son is first, and he is over all creation.All things were created in him. He created everything in heaven and on earth. He created everything that can be seen and everything that can’t be seen. He created kings, powers, rulers and authorities. All things have been created by him and for him.Before anything was created, he was already there. He holds everything together.And he is the head of the body, which is the church. He is the beginning. He is the first to be raised from the dead. That happened so that he would be far above everything.

Instead, go to the people of Israel. They are like sheep that have become lost.

Open wide, you gates. Open up, you ancient doors. Then the King of glory will come in.Who is the King of glory? The Lord, who is strong and mighty. The Lord, who is mighty in battle.Open wide, you gates. Open wide, you ancient doors. Then the King of glory will come in.Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord who rules over all. He is the King of glory.

Then they will praise me. I will give perfect peace to those who are far away and those who are near. And I will heal them,” says the Lord.

“ In my vision I saw one who looked like a son of man. He was coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Eternal God. He was led right up to him.And he was given authority, glory and a kingdom. People of all nations, no matter what language they spoke, worshiped him. His authority will last forever. It will not pass away. His kingdom will never be destroyed.

Let the king be charmed by your beauty. Honor him. He is now your master.

His followers will preach in his name. They will tell others to turn away from their sins and be forgiven. People from every nation will hear it, beginning at Jerusalem.

The Lord himself will give you a sign. The virgin is going to have a baby. She will give birth to a son. And he will be called Immanuel.

The Lord says,“ Bethlehem Ephrathah, you might not be an important town in the nation of Judah. But out of you will come for me a ruler over Israel. His family line goes back to the early years of your nation. It goes all the way back to days of long ago.”

Now Jesus is Prince and Savior. God has proved this by giving Jesus a place of honor with him. He did it to turn Israel away from their sins and forgive them.

The Lord says to my lord,“ Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your control.”The Lord will make your royal authority spread out from Zion to other lands. He says,“ Rule over your enemies who are all around you.”

Christ died and came back to life. He did this to become the Lord of both the dead and the living.

A child will be born to us. A son will be given to us. He will rule over us. And he will be called Wonderful Adviser and Mighty God. He will also be called Father Who Lives Forever and Prince Who Brings Peace.

Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly.“ We had to speak God’s word to you first,” they said.“ But you don’t accept it. You don’t think you are good enough for eternal life. So now we are turning to the Gentiles.

That will continue until the Holy Spirit is poured out on us from heaven. Then the desert will be turned into rich farm lands. The rich farm lands will seem like a forest.In the desert, the Lord will make sure people do what is right. In the rich farm lands he will make sure they treat one another fairly.Doing what is right will bring peace and rest. When my people do that, they will stay calm and trust in the Lord forever.

But the angel said to them,“ Do not be afraid. I bring you good news. It will bring great joy for all the people.Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord.Here is how you will know I am telling you the truth. You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.”Suddenly a large group of angels from heaven also appeared. They were praising God. They said,“ May glory be given to God in the highest heaven! And may peace be given to those he is pleased with on earth!”

“‘ The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your control.” ’( Psalm 110:1)So if David calls him‘ Lord,’ how can he be David’s son?”No one could give any answer to him. From that day on, no one dared to ask him any more questions.

But I will show love to the people of Judah. And I will save them. I will not use bows or swords or other weapons of war to do it. I will not save them by using horses and horsemen either. Instead, I will use my own power to save them. I am the Lord their God. And I will save them.”

Some believers had been scattered by the suffering that unbelievers had caused them. They were scattered after Stephen was killed. Those believers traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch. But they spread the word only among Jews.

May grace and peace come to you from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness, so what he has shown can be trusted. He was the first to rise from the dead. He rules over the kings of the earth. Glory and power belong to Jesus Christ who loves us! He has set us free from our sins by pouring out his blood for us.

God showed. He showed this when he raised Christ from the dead. God seated him at his right hand in his heavenly kingdom.There Christ sits far above all who rule and have authority. He also sits far above all powers and kings. He is above every name that is appealed to in this world and in the world to come.God placed all things under Christ’s rule. He appointed him to be ruler over everything for the church.The church is Christ’s body and is filled by Christ. He fills everything in every way.

There is one Lord, one faith and one baptism.There is one God and Father of all. He is over everything. He is through everything. He is in everything.But each one of us has received a gift of grace. These gifts are given to us by Christ.That is why Scripture says,“ When he went up to his place on high, he took many prisoners. He gave gifts to his people.”( Psalm 68:18)What does“ he went up” mean? It can only mean that he also came down to the lower, earthly places.The one who came down is the same one who went up. He went up higher than all the heavens. He did it in order to fill all creation.So Christ himself gave the gift of the apostles to the church. He gave the prophets and those who preach the good news. And he also gave the pastors and teachers as a gift to the church.He gave all these people so that they might prepare God’s people to serve. Then the body of Christ will be built up.

“ My people, you will go out of Babylon with joy. You will be led out of it in peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song as you go. And all the trees in the fields will clap their hands.

Scripture says,“ The one who believes in him will never be put to shame.”( Isaiah 28:16)There is no difference between those who are Jews and those who are not. The same Lord is Lord of all. He richly blesses everyone who calls on him.Scripture says,“ Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”( Joel 2:32)

He says to them,“ I have placed my king on my holy mountain of Zion.”I will announce what the Lord has promised. He said to me,“ You are my son. Today I have become your father.Ask me, and I will give the nations to you. All nations on earth will belong to you.

Then all people will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.“ What I’m about to tell you is true. Anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. They will not be judged. They have crossed over from death to life.What I’m about to tell you is true. A time is coming for me to give life. In fact, it has already begun. The dead will hear the voice of the Son of God. Those who hear it will live.The Father has life in himself. He has allowed the Son also to have life in himself.And the Father has given him the authority to judge. This is because he is the Son of Man.“ Do not be amazed at this. A time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice.They will all come out of their graves. People who have done what is good will rise and live again. People who have done what is evil will rise and be found guilty.

Everyone’s mouth will say that Jesus Christ is Lord. And God the Father will receive the glory.
