其人賢於帖撒羅尼加人、彼心願受道、日考聖經、欲知此道是否、故其中信道者多、又有希拉貴女、及男子不少、

所愛之兄弟、因此、爾各人當速於聽、緩於言、遲於怒、

我身艱苦、爾未藐視、未厭棄、乃接我如天主使者、如基督耶穌、

哲者之心、求得知識、智者之耳、欲聽道學、

故當去諸污穢及諸邪惡、謙遜而受所種於爾心之道、即能救爾靈魂之道、

故凡自謙似此孩提者、彼在天國為至大、

哲者聞之、增益學問、明者聞之、開廣智謀、

故爾曹當知天主救世之道、已傳於異邦矣、彼將聽之、

勿自欺、倘有人自視為智於此世、則寧為愚、以可為智、

在猶大地、天主感民、一心遵王與諸伯所傳主之命、

故爾當去一切暴狠、詭譎、偽善、嫉妒、及諸毀謗、當慕純真之道、如甫生嬰兒之慕乳然、使爾由此而漸長、

我誠告爾、凡欲承受天主之國、不如孩提者、不得入也、

智者之警教、在願聽者之耳中、如金耳環、如精金之飾、

然我恐此大火燬我、何必冒死、如我再聞主我天主之聲、則必死亡、世人中曾有何人、聽永生天主之聲由火中出、如我所聞而猶能生乎、請爾近前、聽主我之天主所言、爾以主我之天主所諭爾之言傳於我、我必聽從遵行、爾告我此言、主悉聞之、主諭我曰、斯民所言與爾者我聞之、所言甚善、願其常存此心畏我、恆守我諸誡命、則可與子孫永遠得福、

授道於智人、其智必加、指示義人、其學必進、敬畏主乃智慧之始、識至聖之主即是明哲、

是以我儕謝天主不已、因爾聞我儕所傳天主之道、爾受之、非視之如世人之道、乃視之為天主之道、是誠天主之道、力行於爾諸信者中、

然多有先者將為後、後者將為先也、
