以後又有一次向五百多個弟兄顯現。他們中間大多數到現今還在，也有些已經睡了。

求你掩面不看我的罪惡，求你塗抹我的一切罪孽。神啊！求你為我造一顆清潔的心，求你使我裡面重新有堅定的靈。不要把我從你面前丟棄，不要從我身上收回你的聖靈。求你使我重得你救恩的喜樂，重新有樂意的靈支持我。我就必把你的道指教有過犯的人，罪人必回轉歸向你。

我向你承認我的罪，沒有隱藏我的罪孽；我說：“我要向耶和華承認我的過犯”；你就赦免我的罪孽。（細拉）因此，凡是敬虔的人，都當趁你可尋找的時候，向你禱告；大水氾濫的時候，必不能達到他那裡。

就在那時，大地震發生了，那座城倒塌了十分之一，因著地震而死的有七千人，其餘的人都很害怕，就把榮耀歸給天上的神。

他們吃了早飯，耶穌問西門．彼得：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我比這些更深嗎？”他回答：“主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你餵養我的小羊。”耶穌第二次又問他：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？”他回答：“主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你牧養我的羊。”耶穌第三次問他：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？”彼得因為耶穌第三次問他：“你愛我嗎？”就憂愁起來，對耶穌說：“主啊，你是無所不知的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你餵養我的羊。

他們聽了，就讚美神，對保羅說：“弟兄，你看，猶太人中信主的有好幾萬，都是對律法很熱心的人。

但我已經為你祈求，叫你的信心不至失掉。你回頭的時候，要堅固你的弟兄。”

然而在撒狄你還有幾名是未曾玷污自己衣服的，他們要身穿白衣與我同行；因為他們是配得上的。

我實實在在告訴你們，我所作的事，信我的人也要作，並且要作比這些更大的，因為我往父那裡去。

於是這話流傳在弟兄中間，說那門徒不會死。其實耶穌並沒有對他說他不會死，只是說：“如果我要他活到我來的時候，跟你有甚麼關係呢？”

耶穌又對他們講了另外一個比喻，說：“天國好像一粒芥菜種，人拿去把它種在田裡。
