persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. The Lord delivered me out of them all.

You know that I was treated badly. You know that I suffered greatly. You know what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra. You know how badly I have been treated. But the Lord saved me from all my troubles.

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.

When some of both the Gentiles and the Jews, with their rulers, made a violent attempt to mistreat and stone them,they became aware of it and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all.

Are they servants of Christ?( I speak as one beside himself.) I am more so: in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, and in deaths often.Five times I received forty stripes minus one from the Jews.Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I suffered shipwreck. I have been a night and a day in the deep.I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers;in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses on me daily: anxiety for all the assemblies.

Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen,

He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.

In Iconium, they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of Jews and of Greeks believed.But the disbelieving Jews stirred up and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?Even as it is written,“ For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him,but their plot became known to Saul. They watched the gates both day and night that they might kill him,but his disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.

For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads, and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac. Let them grow into a multitude upon the earth.”

Don’t be afraid, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel. I will help you,” says Yahweh.“ Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,

partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions; and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.For you both had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.

He delivers and rescues. He works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.”

When a great argument arose, the commanding officer, fearing that Paul would be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them, and bring him into the barracks.

the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.

delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you,

But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.But as the disciples stood around him, he rose up, and entered into the city. On the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derbe.When they had preached the Good News to that city, and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.

I will say of Yahweh,“ He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear. So I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

But they, passing on from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia. They went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down.

“ Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name.

who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.

asking a favor against him, that he would summon him to Jerusalem; plotting to kill him on the way.However Festus answered that Paul should be kept in custody at Caesarea, and that he himself was about to depart shortly.

We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair;pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed;always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh.

They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you”, says Yahweh,“ to rescue you.”

Immediately he took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them. They, when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, stopped beating Paul.Then the commanding officer came near, arrested him, commanded him to be bound with two chains, and inquired who he was and what he had done.

But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.

When it was day, some of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul.There were more than forty people who had made this conspiracy.They came to the chief priests and the elders, and said,“ We have bound ourselves under a great curse to taste nothing until we have killed Paul.Now therefore, you with the council inform the commanding officer that he should bring him down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to judge his case more exactly. We are ready to kill him before he comes near.”But Paul’s sister’s son heard they were lying in wait, and he came and entered into the barracks and told Paul.Paul summoned one of the centurions, and said,“ Bring this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to tell him.”So he took him, and brought him to the commanding officer, and said,“ Paul, the prisoner, summoned me and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.”The commanding officer took him by the hand, and going aside, asked him privately,“ What is it that you have to tell me?”He said,“ The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though intending to inquire somewhat more accurately concerning him.Therefore don’t yield to them, for more than forty men lie in wait for him, who have bound themselves under a curse to neither eat nor drink until they have killed him. Now they are ready, looking for the promise from you.”So the commanding officer let the young man go, charging him,“ Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.”He called to himself two of the centurions, and said,“ Prepare two hundred soldiers to go as far as Caesarea, with seventy horsemen, and two hundred men armed with spears, at the third hour of the night.”He asked them to provide animals, that they might set Paul on one, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.

For, I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last of all, like men sentenced to death. For we are made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and men.We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have dishonor.Even to this present hour we hunger, thirst, are naked, are beaten, and have no certain dwelling place.

Yahweh helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.

except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions wait for me.But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.
