我在神、基督耶穌，和蒙揀選的天使面前鄭重地勸誡你：遵守這些話要毫無成見，做任何事都不要偏心。

我在那賜生命給萬物的神面前，並在那曾經向本丟彼拉多見證了美好告白的基督耶穌面前吩咐你：

你們不要被各種怪異的教導引入歧途，因為人的心靠恩典，不靠食物規定得以確立才是好的；那靠食物規定而行事的人，從來沒有得到什麼益處。

一個人就是賺得了全世界，卻賠上了自己的生命，到底有什麼益處呢？人還能拿什麼來換回自己的生命呢？

我認為，只要我還在這帳篷裡，就理當用提醒的話來激發你們，

我們聽說從我們這裡出去的一些人，用一些話使你們不安，攪擾你們的心靈。其實我們沒有吩咐他們。

所以，我這樣說，並且在主裡忠告：你們行事不要再像外邦人那樣，在自己虛妄的理性中行事；

因為操練身體，益處還少；但是敬神，對一切的事都有益處，有今生和來生的應許。

那麼他就成了自以為是的人，什麼都不知道，只對辯論和言詞上的爭執有病態的嗜好，由此引發嫉妒、紛爭、毀謗、惡意的猜疑；他在那些理性敗壞、喪失真理、以為敬神是得利之道的人中，引發無休止的爭吵。

說：「哦，你這個充滿一切詭詐、一切奸惡的人哪！魔鬼的兒子，一切公義的仇敵！你歪曲主的正道，還不停止嗎？

至於那些不敬神的空談，你們要避免，因為說這些話的人將導致更多不敬神的事；

因這理由，我提醒你：要把神的恩賜再如火挑旺起來；這恩賜是藉著我的按手，在你裡面的。

有些人偏離了這些，轉向了虛妄的話，

此外，弟兄們，我們在主耶穌裡請求你們、勸勉你們：既然從我們學到了該怎樣行事為人，怎樣討神的喜悅——就像你們也在行的——你們就要更加努力，
