故我因選民而忍諸難、使於基督耶穌而得拯救、並得永榮、

故我為蒙選者忍受諸難、使彼亦因基督耶穌得救、並得永存之榮、

予之忍受一切、實為選民之故、欲使其恃基督耶穌以邀天恩、而承無疆之休。

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

So I put up with everything for the good of God’s chosen people. Then they also can be saved. Christ Jesus saves them. He gives them glory that will last forever.

今我緣爾受苦則喜、且為基督之身即教會、以我身補基督患難之不足耳、

施諸恩之上帝、緣基督召爾享其永榮、俾爾於暫苦後、完全、堅固、強健、

蓋我暫而且微之苦、適成我儕隆重悠久之榮、

我或受難、乃為爾之慰與救、我或受慰、亦為爾之慰、致能恆忍爾我同受之苦、

爾當共苦、如基督耶穌之勁卒、

上帝預定我儕、非致於怒、乃由我主耶穌基督而得救、

故我求爾、勿以我為爾受難而疲憊、斯乃爾榮、○

昔我為謗讟窘逐狎侮者、但我所行、乃由不知不信、故蒙矜恤、且我主之恩充溢、兼之以信與愛、在基督耶穌中者、

我為彼祈、不為世祈、惟為爾所予我者、以其屬爾也、

且欲示其豐富之榮於矜恤之器、備以獲榮者、

父歟、爾所予我者、願於我所在、彼亦偕在、見爾賜我之榮、蓋創世之先、爾已愛我矣、

萬事皆為爾曹、致恩因眾而增、祝謝彌盛、以榮上帝、○

遣其使以宏大之角聲、集厥選民於四方、自天此涯、以至彼涯、○

素非為民、今為上帝民、素未蒙恤、今蒙恤矣、○

凡恆於為善、求尊榮不朽者、以永生報之、

上帝樂以此奧秘之榮之富、示之異邦、即基督在爾衷、為有榮之望焉、

且不祇為斯民、又使上帝散處之子民會歸於一也、

緣此、上帝曾以我儕之福音召爾、俾得我主耶穌基督之榮、

蓋將有偽基督偽先知者起、大施異蹟奇事、設能惑選民、則亦惑之矣、

於弱者則為弱者、以獲弱者、於眾則如眾、多方以救數人、

若非減其日、則無得救者、但為選民故、其日將減耳、

得我者則得生、並蒙耶和華之恩寵、
