Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.

A factious man after a first and second admonition refuse;

And if thy brother sin against thee, go, show him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

And on some have mercy, who are in doubt;and some save, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

For though I should glory somewhat abundantly concerning our authority( which the Lord gave for building you up, and not for casting you down), I shall not be put to shame:

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart: thou shalt surely rebuke thy neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.Thou shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people; but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am Jehovah.

My brethren, if any among you err from the truth, and one convert him;let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.

Sufficient to such a one is this punishment which was inflicted by the many;so that contrariwise ye should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his overmuch sorrow.Wherefore I beseech you to confirm your love toward him.For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye are obedient in all things.But to whom ye forgive anything, I forgive also: for what I also have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, for your sakes have I forgiven it in the presence of Christ;

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

I write not these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.

As an ear- ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, So is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

Let the righteous smite me, it shall be a kindness; And let him reprove me, it shall be as oil upon the head; Let not my head refuse it: For even in their wickedness shall my prayer continue.

For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not when present deal sharply, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for casting down.
