我懇切勸兄弟、勿輕信任何預言理論、或冒充吾人之書信、而有動於心、乃至驚惶失措、一若主臨之日、即在目前也者。

我劝你们：无论有灵、有言语、有冒我名的书信，说主的日子现在到了，不要轻易动心，也不要惊慌。

我求爾、勿輒動心驚怖、或以靈、或以言、或似由我之書、以為主之日已至、

切求兄弟、勿輒動心驚怖、或為神感、或聽人言、或展手書、似我所遺、言基督臨日伊邇、

我儕求兄弟、或有神、或有言、或有冒我名之書信、言基督降臨之日伊邇、勿輒動心、亦勿驚亂、

not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us— whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter— asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.

What if you receive a message that is supposed to have come from us? What if it says that the day of the Lord has already come? If it does, we ask you not to become easily upset or alarmed. Don’t be upset whether that message is spoken or written or prophesied.

not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us.

not to be easily upset or troubled, either by a prophecy or by a message or by a letter supposedly from us, alleging that the day of the Lord has come.

that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.

to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand;

not to be easily upset in mind or troubled, either by a spirit or by a message or by a letter as if from us, alleging that the Day of the Lord has come.

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

not to be easily shaken from your composure or disturbed by any kind of spirit or message or letter allegedly from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here.

not to be quickly shaken in your mind, and not be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as if from us, saying that the day of Christ has already come.

望我愛友、勿泛信一切靈感、應細心察驗其靈感之是否淵源天主。蓋偽先知已蠭起於世矣。然則爾將何以辨識天主之聖神乎？曰：凡承認耶穌基督確曾降世為人者、皆受天主之靈感者也。

即聞戰爭之起、以及風聲鶴唳之警、亦無庸張惶。斯乃事所必有、惟末日未至而有待耳。

耶穌曰：『爾其慎旃、毋受人欺。蓋將有多人、冒我名而來曰：「吾乃基督；」以是惑眾。爾聞戰爭紛起、風聲鶴唳、毋庸驚惶；蓋此等事在所不免、而終局猶未至也。

然適如昔日之有偽先知起自民間、將來爾中亦必有荒誕之師、潛播異端、陷溺人心、乃至忘恩負義、否認其贖身之主、於以自速其亡。且必有多人與之推波助瀾、同流合污、以致真諦妙道、因斯輩之故、為世詬病。斯輩貪污成性、巧言如簧、以爾等為營利之具。若而人者、罪案夙定。天網恢恢、固無所逃於天地間也。

『造物以來、烈祖云亡、萬物如故；臨格之言、而今安在？』是亦不思而已矣！夫太初天地之成、實憑天主之言；地由水成、因以堅凝、厥後洪水氾濫、載胥及溺、亦憑天主之言。即現有天地、亦何嘗非憑天主之言而維持、以待不肖之徒受判被戮之日、而付諸一炬乎？惟以主視之、一日猶如千秋、千秋猶如一日。

即聞戰亂紛起、亦毋庸驚惶；凡此諸事、必須先臨、而末日則有待也。』

抑又有進者、按主之言、即同道中於主重臨之日、尚存人世者、亦必不能較已亡者早達天國。

堅忍不拔、必保爾靈。

『莫令爾心忐忑不寧；爾信天主、亦當信予。

蓋偽基督假先知、將起而大施異跡奇事；倘可能者、並蒙選之人、亦將被惑矣。

我葆樂親筆問候爾等。凡我手書、必以此為徵；我之字體如此。

天主亦必賜爾等堅守信德、始終不渝；庶幾爾等於耶穌基督重臨之日、聖德全備、無懈可擊。

第吾每經一城、聖神予我默示、謂我在耶路撒冷當受縲絏、患難重重；然吾於生命置之度外、無所顧惜。但望能完成吾之行程、及所受於主耶穌之使命、以證天主恩寵之福音而已。

獸及偽先知同被擒。偽先知者、即當日行異蹟於獸前以熒惑受獸印拜獸像之群眾者也。二者俱被執而生投於硫火池中。

勿為浮言所惑、蓋天主義怒之臨於悖逆諸子、正為此耳。

庶幾造次顛沛無所動心。蓋知受苦受難、實為吾人分內之事。

予以平安遺爾、予以己之平安施於爾等、而予之為施、亦有異乎世之所為矣。毋事忐忑、毋事疑懼；

爾固明知主日之臨、突如其來。有如不速之客之夜襲也。

故望兄弟卓立不移；凡吾儕口傳函授於爾之教義、務須堅守勿渝。
