“ Now go and say to my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel.

“现在你要告诉我的仆人大卫，万军之耶和华说，‘你原本在草场牧羊，我召你来做我以色列子民的首领。

现在你要对我的仆人大卫这样说：‘万军之耶和华这样说：我把你从牧场中、从照顾羊群的工作中拣选出来，使你作我子民以色列的领袖，

現在你要對我僕人大衛這樣說：「萬軍之永恆主這麼說：我將你從羊圈中、從趕羊羣的事上選取了來，讓你做人君來管理我人民以色列。

「現在，你要對我的僕人大衛這樣說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：是我把你從牧場上、從羊群後帶出來，作我子民以色列的領袖。

故當謂我僕大衛曰、萬軍之耶和華云、我自羊牢中、羊羣後、取爾為我民以色列之君、

今當告我僕大闢、萬有之主耶和華云、昔爾在羊牢牧羊、我特遴選爾、使為我民以色列族長。

今當告我僕大衛曰、萬有之主如是云、昔我自羊牢中、自羊群後召爾、立為我民以色列之君、

“ Now then, tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.

“ So tell my servant David,‘ The Lord who rules over all says,“ I took you away from the grasslands. That’s where you were taking care of your father’s sheep and goats. I made you ruler over my people Israel.

Now, therefore, thus you shall say to my servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Israel.

“ So now this is what you are to say to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel.

Now then, this is what you shall say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of armies says:“ I Myself took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader over My people Israel.

Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people, over Israel.

Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be prince over my people, over Israel;

“ Now this is what you are to say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of Hosts says: I took you from the pasture and from following the sheep to be ruler over My people Israel.

Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

“ So now, say this to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD of hosts says: I took you from the pasture and from your work as a shepherd to make you leader of my people Israel.

Now therefore tell my servant David this,‘ Yahweh of Armies says,“ I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel.

David retorted to Michal,“ I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and all his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord, so I celebrate before the Lord.

Then Samuel asked,“ Are these all the sons you have?”“ There is still the youngest,” Jesse replied.“ But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep and goats.”“ Send for him at once,” Samuel said.“ We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.”So Jesse sent for him. He was dark and handsome, with beautiful eyes. And the Lord said,“ This is the one; anoint him.”

Then Nathan said to David,“ You are that man! The Lord, the God of Israel, says: I anointed you king of Israel and saved you from the power of Saul.

“ Now go and say to my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel.

“ About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be the leader of my people, Israel. He will rescue them from the Philistines, for I have looked down on my people in mercy and have heard their cry.”

Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it over Saul’s head. He kissed Saul and said,“ I am doing this because the Lord has appointed you to be the ruler over Israel, his special possession.

He chose his servant David, calling him from the sheep pens.He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants— God’s own people, Israel.
