Yet no matter where I have gone with the Israelites, I have never once complained to Israel’s tribal leaders, the shepherds of my people Israel. I have never asked them,“ Why haven’t you built me a beautiful cedar house?”’

在我與全體以色列子民走過的哪一個地方，我何曾對哪一個以色列士師，就是我吩咐要牧養我子民以色列的士師，說過這話：你們怎麼不為我建造一座香柏木的殿宇呢？』

凡我與以色列人偕行之地、豈曾語所命牧我民以色列支派之一者曰、曷不為我建香柏之室乎、

我與以色列族偕、簡於支派之中、得數人使牧我民、我曷嘗命建柏香木殿、為我居所乎。

凡我偕以色列人行時、以色列支派中之士師、即我所命牧我民以色列者、我何曾謂其一曰、爾何不為我造柏香木之殿乎、

Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their rulers whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel,“ Why have you not built me a house of cedar?”’

I have moved from place to place with all the Israelites. I commanded their rulers to be shepherds over them. I never asked any of those rulers,‘ Why haven’t you built me a house that has beautiful cedar walls?’ ” ’

In all places where I have moved with all the people of Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, saying,“ Why have you not built me a house of cedar?”’

In all my journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever spoken a word to one of the tribal leaders of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, asking: Why haven’t you built me a house of cedar?’

Wherever I have gone with all the sons of Israel, did I speak a word with one of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people Israel, saying,‘ Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ ” ’

Wherever I have moved about with all the children of Israel, have I ever spoken a word to anyone from the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people Israel, saying,‘ Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’”’

In all places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel, spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, Why have ye not built me a house of cedar?

In all My journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked anyone among the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people Israel: Why haven’t you built Me a house of cedar?’

In all[ the places] wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

Wherever I moved among all the Israelites, I did not say to any of the leaders whom I appointed to care for my people Israel,“ Why have you not built me a house made from cedar?”’

In all places in which I have walked with all the children of Israel, did I say a word to any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying,‘ Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’”’

I will live among you, and I will not despise you.I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.

In the past, when Saul was our king, you were the one who really led the forces of Israel. And the Lord told you,‘ You will be the shepherd of my people Israel. You will be Israel’s leader.’”

Yet no matter where I have gone with the Israelites, I have never once complained to Israel’s leaders, the shepherds of my people. I have never asked them,“ Why haven’t you built me a beautiful cedar house?”’

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds, the leaders of Israel. Give them this message from the Sovereign Lord: What sorrow awaits you shepherds who feed yourselves instead of your flocks. Shouldn’t shepherds feed their sheep?

And I will set over them one shepherd, my servant David. He will feed them and be a shepherd to them.

And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you:

‘ And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.’”

And he will stand to lead his flock with the Lord’s strength, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. Then his people will live there undisturbed, for he will be highly honored around the world.

After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” Peter replied,“ you know I love you.”“ Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him.Jesus repeated the question:“ Simon son of John, do you love me?”“ Yes, Lord,” Peter said,“ you know I love you.”“ Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said.A third time he asked him,“ Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Then feed my sheep.

I myself will tend my sheep and give them a place to lie down in peace, says the Sovereign Lord.

“ So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock— his church, purchased with his own blood— over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.

Then I will appoint responsible shepherds who will care for them, and they will never be afraid again. Not a single one will be lost or missing. I, the Lord, have spoken!

He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.

And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding.

yelling,“ Men of Israel, help us! This is the man who preaches against our people everywhere and tells everybody to disobey the Jewish laws. He speaks against the Temple— and even defiles this holy place by bringing in Gentiles.”

He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants— God’s own people, Israel.He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.

The camp must be holy, for the Lord your God moves around in your camp to protect you and to defeat your enemies. He must not see any shameful thing among you, or he will turn away from you.
