I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling.

以色列全体会众聚集在示罗，把会幕竖立在那里，因为那地在他们面前被征服了。

摩西竖立起帐幕，安上柱座，放上木板，安上横闩，竖立柱子。把罩棚铺在帐幕上面，又把罩棚的上盖放在上面；都是照着耶和华吩咐摩西的。

“如果你们经过这事，还是不听从我，行事仍与我的心意相违，我就必发烈怒，与你们作对；我要按着你们的罪，再加重七倍管教你们。

耶和华说：“我必亲自与你同去，也必给你安息。”摩西对他说：“你若是不亲自与我们同去，就不要把我们从这里领上去。

“但如果你们经过这些事仍然不归向我，行事仍与我的心意相违，我也要与你们作对，按着你们的罪，再加重七倍击打你们；

“你要写信给在以弗所教会的使者，说：‘那右手拿着七星，在七个金灯台中间行走的，这样说：

因为耶和华你的神常在你的营中行走，要拯救你，要把你的仇敌交在你的面前；所以你的营要圣洁，免得他看见你那里有污秽的东西，就离开你。

因为自从我领以色列人上来那天起，直到今日，我都未曾住过殿宇，只是从这帐幕到那帐幕，从这帐棚到那帐棚。我和以色列众人，无论走到什么地方，从没有向以色列的哪一个士师，就是我所吩咐牧养我的子民的，说：你们为什么不给我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？’

当时，有云彩遮盖会幕，耶和华的荣耀充满了帐幕。摩西不能进入会幕，因为云彩停在会幕上面，并且耶和华的荣耀充满着帐幕。在以色列人所有的旅程中是这样的：每逢云彩从帐幕收上去的时候，他们就起程；云彩若是不收上去，他们就不起程，直到云彩收上去的日子为止。因为以色列人所有的旅程中，日间有耶和华的云彩在帐幕上，夜间云中有火，显在以色列全家的眼前。

“我们的祖先在旷野有作证的帐幕，就是跟摩西谈话的那位指示他，依照他看见的样式做的。

神的殿和偶像怎能协调呢？我们就是永生神的殿，正如神说：“我要住在他们中间，在他们中间来往；我要作他们的神，他们要作我的子民。”

以色列人从耶和华的山起行，行了三天的路程，耶和华的约柜在他们前面行了三天的路程，为他们寻找安息的地方。他们拔营起行的时候，日间总有耶和华的云彩在他们上头。约柜起行的时候，摩西就说：“耶和华啊，求你起来，愿你的仇敌四散；愿恨你的人从你面前逃跑。”约柜停住的时候，他就说：“耶和华啊，求你归来，回到以色列的千万人中。”
