I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.

神曾對哪一個天使說過：“你是我的兒子，我今日生了你”呢？或者說：“我要作他的父親，他要作我的兒子”呢？

耶和華對我說：‘你的兒子所羅門要建造我的殿宇和庭院；因為我已經揀選他作我的兒子，我也要作他的父親。

凡是我所愛的，我就責備管教；所以你要熱心，也要悔改。

然而我們被主審判的時候，是受他的管教，免得和世人一同被定罪。

我要作他的父親，他要作我的兒子；我的慈愛必不離開他，像離開在你以前的那位一樣；

我找到我的僕人大衛，用我的聖膏油膏他。我的手必堅立他，我的膀臂必堅固他。仇敵必不能欺騙他，兇惡的人必不能壓迫他。我要在他的面前擊碎他的敵人，擊殺那些恨他的人。我的信實和慈愛必與他同在，他的角必因我的名被高舉。我必使他的左手伸到大海，使他的右手伸到大河。他必呼叫我，說：‘你是我的父、我的神、拯救我的磐石。’我也要立他為長子，為世上最高的君王。我要永遠保持我對他的慈愛，我和他所立的約必堅立。我要使他的後裔存到永遠，使他的王位好像天一樣長久。如果他的子孫離棄我的律法，不照著我的典章而行；如果他們違背我的律例，不遵守我的誡命，我就用杖責罰他們的過犯，用鞭責罰他們的罪孽。但我必不把我的慈愛從他身上收回，也必不背棄我的信實。我必不違背我的約，也不改變我口中所出的話。我斷然指著自己的聖潔起誓，說：‘我決不向大衛說謊。他的後裔必存到永遠，他的王位在我面前必像太陽長存，又像月亮永遠堅立，作天上確實的見證。’”（細拉）

因此你心裡要明白，耶和華你的神管教你，好像人管教他的兒子一樣。

因為我與你同在，要拯救你；我要消滅我趕散你去的列國，卻必不消滅你。我要按公正懲治你，決不能免你受罰。’”這是耶和華的宣告。

你們又忘記了那勸你們好像勸兒子的話，說：“我兒！你不可輕看主的管教，受責備的時候也不要灰心；因為主所愛的，他必管教，他又鞭打所收納的每一個兒子。”為了接受管教，你們要忍受，因為神待你們好像待兒子一樣；哪有兒子不受父親管教的呢？作兒子的都受過管教。如果你們沒有受管教，就是私生子，不是兒子了。還有，肉身的父親管教我們，我們尚且敬重他們；何況那萬靈的父，我們不是更要順服他而得生嗎？肉身的父親照著自己的意思管教我們，只有短暫的日子；唯有神管教我們，是為著我們的好處，使我們在他的聖潔上有分。但是一切管教，在當時似乎不覺得快樂，反覺得痛苦；後來卻為那些經過這種操練的人，結出平安的果子來，就是義。

神所責備的人是有福的，所以你不要輕看全能者的管教。

又有聲音從天上來，說：“這是我的愛子，我所喜悅的。”

耶和華啊！你所管教，用律法教導的人，是有福的。在患難的日子，你使他得享平安，直到為惡人所預備的坑挖好了。

我兒，不可輕看耶和華的管教，也不可厭惡他的責備；因為耶和華所愛的，他必責備，正如父親責備他喜愛的兒子一樣。
