I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.

上帝从未对任何一个天使说：“你是我的儿子，我今日成为你父亲。”或说：“我要做你的父亲，你要做我的儿子。”

耶和华对我说，‘你儿子所罗门必建造我的殿宇和庭院，因为我拣选他做我的儿子，我也必做他的父亲。

凡我所爱的，我都会责备、管教。因此，你要热心起来，也要悔改。

主审判我们，是对我们的管教，免得我们和世人一同被定罪。

我要做他的父亲，他要做我的儿子。我的慈爱曾离开在你之前的扫罗王，但我的慈爱必不离开他。

我找到了我的仆人大卫，用我的圣油膏立他。我的手必扶持他，我的臂膀必加给他力量。仇敌胜不过他，恶人不能欺压他。我要当着他的面击垮他的敌人，打倒恨他的人。我要以信实和慈爱待他，他必因我的名而充满力量。我要使他左手掌管大海，右手统治江河。他要向我高呼，‘你是我的父亲，我的上帝，拯救我的磐石。’我要立他为我的长子，使他做天下至尊的君王。我要永远用慈爱待他，我与他立的约永不更改。我要使他的后裔永无穷尽，让他的王位与天同存。如果他的后代背弃我的律法，不遵行我的典章，触犯我的律例，不守我的诫命，我就会因他们的罪用杖惩罚他们，用鞭子责打他们。但我不会收回我的慈爱，也不会背弃我的信实。我必不毁约，也不食言。因我曾凭自己的圣洁向大卫起誓，我绝无谎言。他的后裔必永无穷尽，他的王位必在我面前如日长存，又如天上亘古不变的月亮，永远坚立。”（细拉）

你们心里要明白，你们的上帝耶和华管教你们，如同父亲管教儿子。

因为我与你们同在，要拯救你们。这是耶和华说的。我要彻底毁灭列国，就是我曾使你们流亡的地方。但我不会彻底毁灭你们，也不会饶过你们，我必公正地惩治你们。”

你们难道忘了那像劝勉儿子一样劝勉你们的话吗？“孩子啊，不可轻视主的管教，被祂责备的时候也不要灰心。因为主管教祂所爱的人，责罚祂收纳的儿子。”你们要忍受管教，上帝对待你们如同对待自己的儿子。哪有儿子不受父亲管教的呢？做子女的都会受管教，如果没人管教你们，那你们就是私生子，不是儿子。再者，我们的生身父亲管教我们，我们尚且敬重他们，何况是万灵之父上帝管教我们，我们岂不更要顺服祂并得到生命吗？我们的生身父亲是按自己以为好的标准暂时管教我们，但上帝是为了我们的益处而管教我们，使我们可以在祂的圣洁上有份。被管教的滋味绝不好受，当时都很痛苦，但事后那些受过管教的人会收获公义和平安的果子。

“被上帝责备的人有福了，不可轻视全能者的管教。

又有声音从天上传来：“这是我的爱子，我甚喜悦祂。”

耶和华啊，蒙你管教并用律法训诲的人有福了！你使他们在患难中有平安，恶人终必灭亡。

孩子啊，不可轻视耶和华的管教，也不可厌烦祂的责备。因为耶和华责备祂所爱的人，就像父亲责备他所疼爱的孩子。
