When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom.

Some day your life will come to an end. You will join the members of your family who have already died. Then I will make one of your own sons the next king after you. And I will make his kingdom secure.

When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.

今耶和華之言驗矣、蓋我循其所許、起而繼父大衛、居以色列國位、又為以色列上帝耶和華之名建室、備所以置匱、

耶和華以誠誓於大衛、必不反覆、曰我必使爾所生者、居爾位兮、爾子若守我約、與我所訓之法、厥子亦必永居其位、

耶和華諭摩西曰、爾與列祖偕眠、斯民必於所至之地、狥欲從異族之神、離棄我、背我與立之約、

彼為先知、且知上帝曾以誓許之、將由其裔中立一人居其位、

迨爾之日已盈、歸爾列祖、我必立爾後裔、即爾子以嗣爾、鞏固其國、

夫大衛在其世、行上帝之旨、既寢、歸其列祖而朽壞、

其政治與和平、有加無已、在於大衛之位、治理其國、以公以義建立之、保定之、自今迄於永遠、萬軍耶和華之熱中、將成此焉、○

不然、則我主我王、與列祖偕眠時、我與我子所羅門、必視為罪人矣、○

是日也、耶西之根、立為萬民之纛、異邦歸附、其駐蹕之所、必有榮焉、○

我必永延其裔、俾其位如天悠久兮、

長眠於塵土者、多有復醒、得永生者有之、蒙羞而受永辱者有之、

爾意基督若何、係誰之裔乎、曰、大衛之裔也、曰、然則大衛何以感於聖神、稱之為主耶、其言云、主語我主曰、坐我右、迨我以爾敵置爾足下、

耶和華諭之曰、此非爾嗣、必自爾出者、乃為爾嗣、

耶西之幹、將生萌蘖、其枝結實、由於其根、耶和華之神必臨之、即智慧明哲之神、謀畧才能之神、知識與寅畏耶和華之神也、彼以寅畏耶和華為悅、不依目見而鞫、不依耳聞而擬、

我以奧秘示爾、我儕不盡寢而將盡化、

若信耶穌死而復起、則宗耶穌而寢者、上帝亦將引與俱來、
